I've taken a look at how much I need to do to realize my goal, and have sunk into a weird depression. In order to upgrade my computer, contribute to rent/utilities, get health insurance (thanks obamacare), and acquire some of the tools/training I'll need, I need to get a bank account. In order to do that, I need a steady job, and a steady method of getting to/from that job. In order to get those things, I need a valid State ID, which my expired Learner's Permit is not. In order to get THAT, I need a valid Social Security Card, which my parents lost years ago (I know the number, but don't have the card), as well as my Birth Certificate (which I DO have). In order to request a replacement copy of the Social Security Card, I need a valid State ID, and my Birth Certificate.
Which means getting the State ID. Which means I need the Social Security Card. Which means I'm trapped by an infinite loop.
I don't think there's anyway out.
