'Allo lovlies! Just a quick tidbit of rather important information for you: The Summer of Sonic 2011 Registration process will begin Sunday, 1st May @ 10:00am GMT

The process will be a similar fashion to last year; you will be taken to a microsite where you will need to enter your details. Each person attending will need to fill out this form. You will be then issued a code which you will be given for entry. I must stress that you register as soon as physically possible. The demand is extremely high and entry without these codes on the day cannot be guaranteed. You'll also be happy to know that Summer of Sonic will be MUCH longer this year: 9AM to 8PM!

For more details, please check out the Official Post.

Good afternoon, boomers! I once again apologise for the delay in getting updates to you, but in a way, I suppose it's just as well! It seems I have quite a bit to discuss, but no worries! I'll break it down for you!

Summer of Sonic 2011: Camden Centre, Central London
This year's Summer of Sonic venue has been chosen, and this time it's at the Camden Centre, which is a Ring's-throw away from Euston and Kings Cross St. Pancras stations, making it easier than ever to get to this year's event. In case you still have trouble finding it, a handy little guide has been put together for finding this year's event! Which you can find here! As always, I will be checking TFL for regular updates, as we will have enginerring works in the capital on that weekend (And will probably have enginerring works every weekend, until time ends.)

Guest Spectacular: Ian Flynn & Tracey Yardley
We've always had an rather ridiculously awesome Guest List ever since Summer of Sonic started; TJ Davis, Richard Jacques, Bentley Jones, Nigel Kitching, Nigel Dobbyn, Steve "S0L" Lycett and let's not forget the legendary Crush 40. And this year definately proves to be no different: So far, Ian Flynn, who's been the head writer over at the Archie Sonic Comic since issue #160, and artist Tracey Yardley will be making an appearance this year, too! Plenty to keep the Archie fans going! So far, these are the two confirmed guests for the event, but I'm sure there's more up the Team's sleeve as we speak!

Unofficial Summer of Sonic 2011 Warmup Party!
Boomers Ben and Rebecca are organising a Pre-SoS party for this year, taking place at the Jetlag Sports Bar and Restaurant in Marylebone on Friday 24th June at 6pm. There's an entry fee of £7 and a minimum spend of £12.50, so if you have some spare cash and want to have some fun with some Sonic fans before the event as well, this will be your chance! Head on over to the Facebook Event Page to register your interest!

Summer of Sonic Club @ dA Overhaul
The Summer of Sonic Club will be undergoing maintenance next week (Friday 22nd - Sunday 24th April), because it's.... Looking really dull around here. I have found the funds to turn this into a Super Group and as a result will be sprucing up the place something rather chronic. So stay tuned for that! Thank you all for your support so far, as well as the multitude of members! The answers are coming!

Brought to you by Sonic Wrecks, Sonic Stadium, SEGA and the rest of the Sonic the Hedgehog community, Summer of Sonic 2011 (Otherwise known as Summer of Sonic 4! ...No episodic content, but definately an epic!) is closing in fast! As it's Sonic the Hedgehog's 20th Anniversary year, organisers plan to make this the best one yet. It's certainly going to be a hard one to top, but you'd better believe it's gonna happen!

As you know, this will all be taking place on Saturday, 25th June. A couple day's after the blue one's birthday; Dreadknux has now started an event page on Facebook in order to try and get a fair idea of numbers. If you do have Facebook, then mosey on down to the event page, which can be found here!

Expect to hear more from us soon!

Good evening ladies and gentlemen! Pretty much updating you the way I planned to initially; A lot of people who attend Summer of Sonic are on dA and it's a useful way to keep everyone in the loop with the information on the site, any artwork and photos that people are submitting, plus any other guides and documentation in one place.

The Summer of Sonic 2011 posts are now arriving, with the event now in it's planning stages, and your input is required!
"Hi all, its your host with the most ArchangelUK here.  We’re not even out of 2010 yet and we’ve got a vast array of work still to do this year on Summer Of Sonic.

Well, I say we…

In order to progress with Summer Of Sonic 2011 I have to begin thinking about it now. As such we’ve begun talking about it in the SOS war-room and I’d like to open up the floor to suggestions from you guys. These are suggestions at this point only."
To read the full post, and to add your suggestions to the list, please visit this link! (Note: As long as the suggestion isn't air con. Last year's venue had air con. It just... Failed to work.)

Welcome!
Well hello guys! It may well be the ending of August, and for most of us, the Summer is slowly drawing to a close, but in our hearts, the fire of Summer of Sonic is still burning!

Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Syaming-Li and I started this group so that people on deviantART remain in the loop about Summer of Sonic and any announcements. The idea came to fruition over the course of the last couple of years, as I personally wrote journals aiding Summer of Sonic goers in their travels to the event, organised meets based on those ideas and both so far have proved to have been successful. This year, I chose to cross-post these journals on The Sonic Stadium Forums. I will be doing so again this year, but this time I plan to do so from a much more professional capacity. With permission from the awesome Kevin “ArchangelUK” Eva, and Svend "Dreadknux" Joscelyne, I decided a group would be much better for the purpose!

This will not be JUST a blogging account either! Of course we need to make it interactive! As a result Members will be able to post all of their Summer of Sonic goodies and post them here to showcase! Whether you're an artist, a cosplayer, or just want to show off your photography, you will be able to do so here, too! In addition, in a slightly more minor capacity, I will be posting news in conjunction with HelenBaby in regards to Sonic London meets happening in the capital. So if you can make it down, you'll know when to!

Things are still in their early-stages. Should this provide enough interest, I will turn it into a Super Group and spruce it up a little, so at present I am not looking for admins for the duration, but I may look for admins and contributors should things get a little busier, so please bear with me during this time. Thank you for reading!

About Summer Of Sonic
Summer of Sonic is an international Sonic the Hedgehog (as if you couldn't guess!) convention that takes place in London, England. The venues are different each year, and the first Summer of Sonic started in 2008 in the Dragon Hall, Covent Garden. The precedence was set early with Richard Jaques, TJ Davis and Bentley Jones (Lee Brotherton) performing for us. More recently, the 2010 event (and biggest one to date) saw in over 700 Sonic fans from all over the globe, the ability to play Sonic the Hedgehog 4 and Sonic Colours, and of course Crush 40's rockin' performance, which was a great experience for them as well as it was for the fans! Next year, it's no-holds-barred, as it'll be Sonic's 20th Anniversary! As a result, Summer of Sonic 2011 (or Summer of Sonic 4!) will take place on Saturday, 25th June, 2011. Venue currently pending.

Rules!
:bulletblue: Try to keep it clean! I know a lot of us are adults, so it will be pretty tricky at times, but the trick is having a demographic of all ages reading this without feeling offended, so do your best!
:bulletblue: Please respect the views of other members. We are from all different aspects of the Sonic Community, remember that! No flaming/spamming of any kind! This will not be tolerated.
:bulletblue: For now, submissions are unlimited a week in order to get the gallery nice and full of SoS goodness!
:bulletblue: Extended from the above point: Only Summer of Sonic-related submissions will be accepted! There are already half a ton of Sonic the Hedgehog artwork groups on dA, so we're definately not that!
:bulletblue: If it's about Summer of Sonic? Note the club! I'm a busy boy and there's a LOT of activity on my personal gallery account as it is, so if you send it there, chances are I will miss it! Please direct it to the club!

Affiliation!
We will only be accepting Sonic-related clubs at this time. No fancharacter clubs, pairing/shipping clubs or anti-character clubs will be accepted!
