the foreign guy

lifting a severed look of loss
from his heavy head
with his heavy hands
he then parts the locks
of his oddly colored hair

within woven words
unknown to him
[their textures thick
their meanings thin]
he embeds his life
and jams the loom

he speaks an alien silence
and with a vision stained
by clays of a distant lake
pours a breath of why
into folds withdrawn, unnoticed

[speechless]

what is it with the foreign guy that always draws my attention -- they have a foreign look that makes you look twice at them, not a lost look, more like a 'you found me' look

what noize said.

+ this: when you don't belong, look alike and speak like the others. yup.

and i know that wasn't a question but an introduction to your poem. wala lang akong masabi kasi nasabi na lahat ni ingayz.

~ "what makes anyone foreign?" - not being at home i believe. home being another heart, a place, a country or a state of mind. sometimes i think the insane are foreign to themselves - lost they know not where: some uncharted territory deep inside the land of their soul - did i just say this?

no, i believe you did. much more eloquently.

what makes anyone foriegn... arent we all, in relation to eachother, in a way? and that silence, where we become foreign to ourselves...

sharp words. alot of meaning hidden in that portrait. but it took me a few readings to uncover it.
