reflections after eating a hard boiled egg

how the embryonic chicken's world smelled to it
if it had the sense of smell
i now know, faintly a shadow of an idea
This would have been its home
a potential universe inside a universe

wall cracked
blanket stiffened in the air
later, closer to the big crunch (if)
someone's neck or radius
or seashell?
or memory?
or name?

chalk?
somebody's equations?
Tight, dry membrane pulls - shellquake
buckled now, the edges

A bit hard to follow up a comment like jsenn, but none the less, another great poem. I think I'll spend the day reading poems... I need a laptop...

I think you will be 80 years old, barefoot, broomstick skirt flowing in the wind, walking at the edge of the sea spray early in the morning watching the sun rise over the ocean, a new day, mentally reciting the names of birds you see swoop down after sand crabs, counting the number of sandpipers you see scurry ahead of you leaving little 3toed marks in the wet sand, discovering a brand new seashell, whole, slipped into your pocket to identify later. you are a wonder, Mari for seeing such enormous import in the simple things around you.

Beautiful! Original viewpoint brought to comprehension to one that knew not the direction to the inside of the universe within a universe that played a fragile home.

Outstanding!
