Wide Waking

'tis I
Warrior of the Wake
the soul's fate
hidden
in dreams trespassers
forbidden
one cannot rise
from tired visions

With valor and deathly fear
I stand to be ambushed
fantasaria
malignaria
infectious sleep
insomnia
Bravura fists aclenched
imagination wrenched
a Shield of Song
deflects the pins
jabbing at the skin
where the red river
met its summer
drought

I conjure
then Assure
that dark circles will not
Endure for Long
Shine, or whine fluid spectres
and read the victor's
symbols
On the Banner raised
That is Dawn.

Very interesting poem. You have an almost mystical arrangement of words that surely surpasses my attempts at such a work. Might as well add you to my artist watch before I forget. :D (Big Grin)

LOLOL well lustrum does use large but mostly obscure words of valient behavior and he used to stay up all night long when he first came here. I find that men don't take that very well, after a few days of that they get mean and have to go to sleep, whereas women seem, sometimes, to thrive on the freedom they feel in their bodies. Does that mean that women always seek freedom? No I don't think so but...uh, oh, you wrote a poem...okay, "insomnia Bravura fists aclenched imagination wrenched" Yeah I love that word aclenched, LOL, and she was valor and goodness and she met the dawn, against all odds and the swirling mental confusion. She fought on, and in the end she was still noting hilarity, exchanging in the hand mustached icons. Will we see our heroine rise tonight or will the dark circles extenguish the lights?

Great stuff! This does have that lustrum touch and flare. But still SLN.

Truly Beautiful!

i think this poem really comes together nicely, it has some great lines, like mastermind said, but i also like the red river part, its a beautiful line. and to top it off, it has a great ending :P (Razz)

to me this is a unique subject matter that came out very well emotionally and technically, i like it.
