Lovarina is one of those people, who seem to exist soley to make life as awful as possible, for everyone else.
I wouldn't say she's unrealstic though. Reality has some very unpleasant people.......

There NEEDS to be a dub for this comic! If there isn't one already!
I love it so much.

There is a team currently dubbing the comic. I don't know if they are continuing it but it would be cool if they would.
Here's the first part: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Ys9li…

It's not the best IMO. Victory Fire is a comic that deserves a high-quality dub and with a voice direction that isn't super anime or cartoonish, given its tone and realistic, very human characters. This dub's fine, but it's proceeding at a very slow rate - honestly, given subpar VFX, odd music choices and overall lack of consistent VA quality, I'd much prefer someone would pick up the comic when it's completed, start from scratch and release longer, more professional videos.

Excellent question Mewtwo, but there must be a way somewhere

I think the sad part about it is that there actually isn't. Darkrai can't ever be completely cured; no amount of medicine or reverse-engineering can undo the damage Lovrina's done to him. But I also think it's a positive thing, and fits very well within the themes and ideas presented in Victory Fire; redemption and getting a second chance. We've already seen how Darkrai has - on many occasions - overcome his anger, used it for good, even reflected on his actions and on how to improve as a pokemon. Living with these traumatic scars are a curse, yes, but also a chance for Darkrai to grow and evolve in a way he never would have otherwise. The series has shown that he is capeable of overcoming his dark side with the help of the people around him and his own introspection.

This slow, painful and ultimately enlightening process towards a better life seems much more in line with the tones and themes of VF than a magical mcguffin cure being developed by Mewtwo. It just screams audience-pleasing to me if SF went down the route of just removing what has made Darkrai be Darkrai.

edit: spelling

Guess I look kinda dumb now lol. But I don't think that Darkrai is going to be completely cured after the process is over, at least not without a significant character sacrifice along the way (e.g someone dying, the Square being destroyed).

It's a possibility, but you don't look dumb. We're all just speculating ^^

How do you start? For now, just pick a direction and just keep moving. There’s a group helping out, so it’s likely every other path is also being taken.

Poor Darkrai--in the position of the absolute worst possible abusive relationship.

His partner as in his trainer, right? This is indeed getting complicated.

it's established earlier in the comic that humans use the term Trainer and Pokemon use the term Partner, if I remember correctly. So yes. It would imply that no matter how much Lovrina has hurt and mistreated Darkrai, he STILL feels that bond between trainer and pokemon, and it's gotta be a very painful sort of position to be in, feeling that bond to someone who is so toxic. It's very tragic form of abusive relationship, especially because Lovrina was intentionally incredibly abusive. This was something she planed methodically, the way to hurt and betray and twist Darkrai into what he is today. despite what he feels towards her, she doesn't care and will never care about him in the same way.

Honestly they seem to be pretty good at keeping him stable so it wouldn't even be so bad if they never find a cure.

It's a sort of buildup though. Sooner or later, he's going to snap. She saw to it that he'd always go berserk at some point, and she's proud of it.

Mewtwo has taken the task of learning to reprogram the endocrine system, and that's some crazy high level biology right there.

Especially when it comes to Pokemon, who have to be at least some part magic in order to work the way they do. Supernatural energies involved with biology that is apparently easy to convert to data for storage in pokeballs and transfer through teleportation matrices. What's under the hood for a Pokemon could very well be a nightmare that would require a medical doctor, a biologist, an engineer, a geneticist, and a priest to figure out.

Dang, I didn't even think about that part. Good thing Mewtwo's a friggin genius and he has notes on the process.

Having the guy who took down Cipher once by himself should be a good start, but I'm not a Pokémon so who am I to judge?
