Questions

Q. When will I get my order?
I typically ship orders once per week! If you’d like to stay up to date, please follow me on social media (and here on dA), as I will give updates on the status of packages there.
It can take anywhere from 3 days to 1 week for U.S. orders, and from 1-6 weeks for international orders (but usually take 2-3 weeks).

Q. Are you still selling the preorder sets (Set A, Set B, etc.)?
Set A is sold out and will never return, but I still have some of Set B left. :new: So I have REOPENED orders for Set B and I will be selling them at Anime Weekend Atlanta 2016!

Q. Will you be selling copies at conventions?
Q. Can I pick up my order at a convention?

Yes! I will be selling the book at conventions as well.
Yes, you can pick up your order at a convention! Check the list of conventions I will be attending, and if you will be going to the same one, you can let me know in the note to seller comment box.

If you have any questions, please let me know! Thank you! :iconyuihugplz:

Yozaihou Urami

Urami Cinnamon by suishouyuki I Can't Cover Art by suishouyuki Urami's Birthday Sketchdump by suishouyuki

Fact 1. Urami was created out of a daydream, which wasn't much more than a passing thought sequence. In the daydream, she had no name, no background; not even a face since it was shadowed out. As such, it was very difficult to try to pin down her personality, and I still don't think I have it nailed yet.... As a result, she's ended up with a lot of similarities to me, though this happened completely unintentionally. In fact, it's only since last year, though the start of the editing process, that I started to realize we have any similarities at all. I go back and forth between greatly disliking Urami and liking her a lot, and I wonder if it's because of my dissatisfaction with plot or if I'm making myself aware of my own flaws. (That's good though? If there's a problem I need to fix it!) I guess it works if I go through a period of not liking her, because it's a lot easier to write Yami's POV towards her XD

Fact 2. She has the tendency to get on others' nerves, though it's mostly unintentional on her part. She either annoys people, or amuses them. This is largely in part because of her lack of social skills, but also because she speaks bluntly, without regard for how her words will come across--though she tries to be aware of the possibility of negative feedback because she knows she's KY.

Fact 3. Her childhood was full of fighting, so much so that she once had to see the local Juvenile Correctional Officer. She didn't realize why she was so full of anger and got into fights until after several long rounds of counseling--the loneliness and feelings of being useless and unwanted.

Fact 4. She is very passionate romantically, and once made aware of it, is scared of herself and what might happen. She refuses to get involved in such a way for quite a while, and even after she's married, it takes some time for her to let down that wall again.

Fact 5. Urami's severe need for (and obsession with) trying to get Yami to forgive her gets to the point where she often obeys him without thinking, forgetting the fact that she's her own person with the ability to make choices. One exception to this is when they're arguing/fighting--she ignores most things he says in that case.

Fact 6. When she was little, Urami once locked herself out of the house accidentally during a thunderstorm. This was back before she was given her own key and her mother was at home a little more often. It didn't take too long for her mom to find her once she realized she wasn't in the house, but Urami has had a bad "relationship" with storms ever since. The "Incident" later alters her feelings towards them again, and after that she can be seen sulking or acting melancholy whenever it rains.

**Fun fact** Urami has been called an "ame-onna", a term used to refer to a female who seems to summon or attract rain. Indeed, rain has shown up on several outings where Urami has been present, even when no rain was forecast for the day. Urami doesn't quite believe the superstition; rather, she feels like the weather is being sympathetic of her sadness and going to the trouble of crying for her.

Fact 7. Urami uses running as an outlet for her raw emotions. It was one of the things her counselor suggested doing that helped her stop getting into fights at school, and gave her a way to work off her stress without harming anyone or looking bad. Though at first she hated being labeled as a coward (because she would literally run away from the situation as soon as she got mad), in time she began to push the label away and enjoy running for the exercise instead. Over time, she became a calmer person and got into shape on top of that! Because of her experience with fighting and her years running, she has greater physical stamina and a higher pain tolerance level than the average girl her age.

Fact 8. She was born in Sapporo, Hokkaido, and has lived there for roughly half of her life. The cooler climate of the northernmost prefecture in Japan acclimated Urami to cooler weather, thus she doesn't get too bothered by the cold. In fact, she enjoys it more than warm weather. It confuses people seeing her with bare legs in freezing temperatures, but she's just used to it. On the other hand, she finds it difficult to survive in hot weather, especially the humid kind, since even weather in the 60s (F) is a bit warm to her.

Happy New Year!

Thank you, 2015!

I've been incredibly busy this year! In fact, 2015 has probably been the busiest year I've had (outside of school, maybe). I worked part time (and later quit), attended three anime conventions, designed cookies, designed fabric patterns, received several commissions, finally published on FFN the first chapter of my fanfic, and dove head-first into my Duel Cafe artbook project!

There's so much more I wanted to do this year (I really wanted to make more birthday gifts for people!! And draw stuff for holidays like Halloween and Christmas) but just wasn't able to because I had to devote my time and attention elsewhere, but I'm so incredibly grateful for the opportunities, trials, and lessons learned. I'm also very thankful for everyone's support and encouragement. It means a lot ;w; It helps me to remember in difficult spots that there are people who like my art, and who appreciate and care about me. ;w;

I definitely feel that I have grown this year. I'm still a little shy/awkward when talking to people but I'm a little better at it now. I've been a lot more proactive and productive than I have in the past, which makes me REALLY happy, though I know I could be a lot better. And there are so many other things but I'm too sleepy to put them into words right now XD

2016 Plans/Hopes/Goals/It Would Be Nice If...

Making plans is natural and something we all do, but rarely does anything go exactly according to plan, so in the end it's rather ironic and funny that we still do it. Tomorrow, heck, even next hour isn't guaranteed, which is why living every moment in the Fruit of the Spirit, keeping the important things in mind, is so important... So rather than list out everything I'm planning, here are a couple of highlights:

:bulletpurple: January ??? - One of my patrons has been seeing these for a few months now, but I'm going to try selling some adoptables! It's kind of an accident, actually; I hadn't planned on selling them, but as they started to collect I realized I had no use for them apart from trying to fit them into my stories or making a new story just for them. I love every single design, but I think it would be good to see other people bring them to life.
:bulletpurple: February ??? - Storenvy update! New products will be added and my most popular print will be restocked in the large size.
:bulletpurple: March 1 - Commissions will be open again! I'm going to be including some new options and probably simplify the journal a bit more. Prices will remain as they are. ^^

That's it for now!
Thank you, God, for this year and all of the good things that happened; thank you for helping us through the bad things; thank you for helping me to keep drawing even when I feel super frustrated and would rather flip a table (figuratively speaking...probably).
Thank you, everyone, for your support as always, for all of your faves, comments, and watches. icon K-Hugplz by K-Hugplz  It may sound dumb or cliche but each one really does mean a lot to me ;w; I'm so happy to know that others like my artwork, even if it's an older piece I don't like anymore XD  (I'm looking at you, Neko Sasuke)

See you next year! Rin Waving Hands Icon
That means tomorrow.
Or today if you're timezones ahead of me.
Gotta love those timezones.

Duel Cafe + New Sketchdump!

Sun Dec 20, 2015, 5:56 PM

Happy April!

[Updated April 1.]

:new: I just uploaded a new sketchdump! Make sure you're watching my Scraps folder if you want to get notified when I upload something there ^^
Sketchdump 2011 - 2015 by suishouyuki (Sketchdump) AU - False Future by suishouyuki (I also moved this one to Scraps)

:new: If you have been following me on Twitter, you will know this already, but last week I picked up the first proof for Duel Cafe! I made changes to some of the files so they would sit better in relation to the edge of the book and requested a new proof, so now I'm just waiting on that! I'm so happy to finally have something to show for all of the work (including the hard work of my guest artists!!). [Patron-only link, but feel free to browse the free posts if you don't want to become a patron, because I have some Duel Cafe previews shared publicly there as well!]

All the work for the preorder extras is done as well!! That's kinda what's been keeping me busy--that and miscellaneous other things I have had to take care of.

I mean... The hours I've spent researching shipping costs and methods for parcels like this international shipping, why are you so expensive?? /weeps It's definitely worth it, but my brain is tired by the end of all that research lol ;w; Not that I don't know how to ship stuff (I've shipped several things from my store and as gifts already); I just want to make sure I have reasonable shipping prices for heavier items, since this will be my first "heavy" item compared to things like prints. And any savings I can get I want to pass on to you! :bademoticon:

So... Waiting on printing is the current project status. Waiting is hard, guys Cry forever

Oh! Also, my store is closed while I'm updating everything in it! It's getting a rehaul and new products, so it will re-launch along with the artbook. Sorry for any inconvenience >_<

Not sick anymore!

Hi, everyone! Sorry for the silence lately Ritsu Tainaka (Don't go please) [V2]  I'm getting back on track! I was sick for a whole week combined with having other stuff that needed my attention, so I fell a bit behind, but progress is still being made~ I have definitely learned a lot already by doing this project... There's stuff I wish I had done in the beginning, or should have done, or shouldn't have done (lol).... But it's all a great learning experience and I'll definitely put it to use the next time I do a project like this. Doing this has not been easy and it's stressful at times. I've gotten a bit discouraged at points. Ritsu Tainaka (Boo) [V1] Even so, I'm glad I didn't let my fears win when I started, because it's also been fun! (Which is the point, so yay lol)

Anyway, Christmas is coming!!

Is everyone in the Christmas mood? Christmas- Pikachu Santa I've been falling in and out of the mood, but there are times like the wonderful moment of praise at the end of church service today where I really feel Christmas x3 I've been going around (like, to the store and stuff) wearing a Santa hat because why not? :giggle:
Oh, and we had an event at church today called "The Christmas Experience" (this is the third year, I think!) only this time I volunteered for camera help. Of course we walked around and participated as usual...and almost did Christmas karaoke but ended up not XD It was fun! I really liked it. And earlier this month we went on a tour of historic homes and businesses along a historic road downtown, which was really nice--even better than previous years--because there were more places on the tour (including lots we hadn't seen before) and we went earlier in the day so we weren't as rushed~ It's really nice getting to see historic homes decorated so beautifully.

This year we're having our Christmas on Christmas Eve since my dad has to work Christmas Day (I'm soooo excited for Christmas pancakes!!!!!  Adorable Girl Anime Emoji (Heart Dance) [V6] ), but Christmas Day is the official family gathering~ I'll...probably just end up drawing afterwards but hey XD
What are you doing for Christmas?Santa :la:

Stuff!

:bulletorange: I've changed my Patreon to monthly and shuffled rewards a bit! I still need to update the graphics and FAQ to reflect the changes, but I'd appreciate any support! Azusa and Yui (Can I has chuu) [V2]
:bulletblue: The large size for "Corporate Takeover" (this: Corporate Takeover by suishouyuki) will be restocked in February. :happybounce:
:bulletpink: Some other third thing o3o

Convention News

Hi, everyone! AWA staff sent out Artist Alley location info yesterday! My eyes got big when I saw the map because...wow, there are so many tables o___o;;; I feel so tiny! o__o;
If you will be in Atlanta around these times, please stop by and visit!
Anime Weekend Atlanta - Atlanta, GA (September 24-27, 2015)

Commissions Update

I am planning on adding new categories to my commissions:
:bulletpink: Character reference sheets (from $50-200)
:bulletpink: Sketch pages (from $100)
:bulletpink: Base chibis (from $15)
I will also be adding the option for speedpaints (where I record the process for you). If you have any comments/suggestions/questions, please let me know!
:points: Points Commissions
I have played with the idea of offering Points commissions, but the conversion rate is still a little confusing XD; If you are interested in Points commissions, let me know.

Store Updates

I recently updated my online store (Storenvy) with new graphics, and now I've updated the product photos! The thumbnails for each print preview are larger and include detail shots as well, so now you don't have to wonder, "What in the world is that little colored speck?" lol.

I've also made a Zazzle page, which right now has phone cases and pouches (not just for iPhones)~ Eventually I'd like to add more items, like clothes, buttons, stationery, etc. >v<

Patreon

Why Patreon?
One of the biggest questions I ask myself when I'm done with a drawing, whether it's a simple sketch or a complete work, is this: "To upload, or not to upload?" The reason I even have to ask this question is because a lot of the time, what I'm drawing is something I can't upload, at least not for a while. When it comes to my projects, some benefit from having exclusive art, and some need to remain spoiler-free. But I have no potential to make profit from my projects until they are released in their final form and become tangible things rather than merely ideas.

So I figured that while I'm working on these projects, I can share sneak-peaks and behind-the-scenes progress with those who support me every two weeks on Patreon. That way, I still get to share what I'm working on right then, and people get to see and participate in the creation process, giving feedback so I can make the work even better!! :iconsparkleeyeyuiplz:

In the meantime, with patron support and commissions, I will still be able to pay for supplies, upgrades, convention costs, and daily life. ;3;

Why Support?
:bulletpink: Because I love you.
:bulletpink: In addition to the "rewards" I mentioned above, patrons get other rewards depending on the level they pledge at, such as chibis, discount codes, fan art requests, and more.

:bulletpink: Patron levels start at just $1.00 per two weeks. For more info on Patreon and how it works, see my FAQ post here.

*Can't or don't want to use Patreon? That's totally fine! You can still support me the same way you have been--by watching, faving, and commenting on my artwork  Every one means a lot to me! :tighthug:

Thank you for reading this long list of updates owo;

P.S. I know that Facebook icon up at the top links to my dA profile. I don't have Facebook, but couldn't change the icon XD

DeviantArtist Questionnaire

Fri Aug 7, 2015, 7:52 AM
  1. How long have you been on DeviantArt? Since April 19, 2006 as far as when I first signed up (using a friend's email, with her permission), but never posted anything lol. I've been active since July 3, 2008 on my current account. So I've actively been on dA for seven years.

  2. What does your username mean? "angel of fire" ...with an extra "a" because "fireangel" was already taken...

  3. Describe yourself in three words. cheerful, honest, encouraging

  4. Are you left or right handed? right-handed

  5. What was your first deviation? Mew Tiramisu_color by suishouyuki

  6. What is your favourite type of art to create? I like to create art that has meaning. If it's a fan art piece, for example, I like to include small elements or pieces of a theme which hardcore fans, especially, will recognize and become more emotionally-connected with the artwork. Style-wise, I enjoy making manga-style art (obviously, it's the supreme style in my gallery XD) and featuring characters. My art is often very character-centric.

  7. If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be? Hm... Style-wise, I would say realism. Just....how do you do it...? Q w Q Medium-wise, I would say watercolor. I love the style of watercolor and watching speedpaints of people creating art with watercolors, but I don't like the mess of painting, so I rarely do it for myself.

  8. What was your first favourite? Star trails by adorangelle Adorangelle, or An-yan, was the person who inspired me to approach coloring with colored pencils differently, using layers of different colors instead of shades of the same color.

  9. What type of art do you tend to favourite the most? I tend to favorite art that is visually-appealing, inspirational, good for referencing later, funny, or cute.

  10. Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist? :iconcraiplz: There is no way I can answer that.... I love so many artists...

  11. If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be? I would love to meet Kristen (TheMelodicNinja), Heather (StarGazingKitten), Ooka-chan (21543185), and Nuri (nuriko-kun) among others qwq ...I once had a dream that I met Heather, but I don't think that counts as actually meeting her XD

  12. How has a fellow deviant impacted your life? So many have been inspirations to me, and others have encouraged me and supported me and my endeavors so much. I'm really grateful to my dA friends for their constant support!!!! Ooka-chan inspires me to develop my characters and plotlines better; Heather inspires me to keep writing and sharing my characters and their stories; Belle (auruchan) and the rest of the Japanese in Action crew has helped greatly to expand my artistic horizons and grow more confident in doing things I haven't done before, such as cookie and fabric designs, and in how I price my work (and in God, because when I ask, He always takes the art or bit of plot I'm struggling with and turns it, somehow, from something I greatly dislike to something I'm happy with. qwq) I can't go through every single person who has impacted my life in some way, because there have been so many (everyone from the TMMP forums, for example!), but I'm grateful to every one of them.

  13. What are your preferred tools to create art? Digitally I use Paint Tool SAI most often, supplemented by Photoshop Elements 6. Traditionally I tend to prefer using pencil, Sakura micron pens, and Copic markers, though I sometimes also use colored pencils.

  14. What is the most inspirational place for you to create art? Hm... That would probably be at home, in my room.

  15. What is your favourite DeviantArt memory? I have a couple: The spontaneous roleplays Heather and I did in the comments of some of our pictures, the April Fool's Day where cats took over dA (lol), all the times I've shared gift art and made the recipients really happy ;w; and getting certain comments that really meant a lot to me ;w;

Happy Birthday, and thanks for seven years so far, dA! Just...try not to run too many people off with all these updates Dx ...like the logo...and price changes....

Journal and Profile Page updates!

Wed May 6, 2015, 9:17 AM
Hi @ w @ I spent pretty much all day yesterday and some of this morning working on my dA profile page, journal page, and commission info journal. I also made a header for my Tumblr --the first one since I made an account there lol orz. Please have a look if you like

I've also been working on some new stuff to upload (a lot of it happens to involve Urami lol) in between working on artbook pictures, and I only have one more request left to finish from my requests journal a few months back, so that should be up fairly soon too ^_^

Anyway, here are the things I've changed so far!!
Profile: * fireaangel.deviantart.com *
---->I've added a new section, replaced my ID with a custom box version of it, and updated my favorites collection. Now it features some of my favorite art recently, versus "all-time". ^_^

Journal: * fireaangel.deviantart.com/jour… *
---->I tidied up the sidebars so they're nicer to look at.

Commission Info: fav.me/d59nozb *
---->I did a total rehaul of this journal--I updated the info, gave it a new skin, and everything. Hopefully everything is easier to read now. I also adjusted the pricing slightly.

Please let me know if any of my pages lag for you (if they weren't lagging before), so I can make adjustments as I need to. I'm aware that my profile doesn't look as good on the mobile site because of the way it handles the content box backgrounds and what not, but I think that's pretty much true for everyone using custom stuff... In other news! I'm going to Kentokyocon in August, and I may try to apply for a table at Yamacon in December once the apps open.

And, you can officially eat my art now!

I feel like my journals are always all over the place orz .. But thanks for reading! Kao Emoji-85 (Good Bye) [V5] by Jerikuto

Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by my table! We just got back home an hour or so ago and I'm quite exhausted @ w @; I'll try to write up a proper report later!

My online store will be reopened either tomorrow or Tuesday, after I re-count all my stock totals (I'm almost out of Haikyuu! stickers! Lol).

Livestream + Need Ideas!!

Journal Entry: Wed Dec 3, 2014, 4:29 PM
Hey, everyone! Happy December! >v<

I've been thinking!

It's been a while since I've done a Livestream (like, a long time) and since I finally have a better setup than what I had before (no more laptop-camera-recording-PC-screen muahaha) I was thinking about scheduling one sometime this month! I'd like to do a Christmas-themed one where I can take rapid-fire sketch requests and chat with everyone~~

I was wondering what day you think would be good to hold this LS! Before Christmas, after Christmas, all of a sudden and last-minute... (well, it may be that anyway, but ehe...)

Also! I'd love some recommendations for prints you want to see me do~ I'm working on a couple, but I need to be prepared for cons... I'm doing larger sizes next year too, so let me know if you'd like reprints of something I currently have, but in a larger size! (Or you can be a rebel and be like, "Nuuuu give me stickers/whatever" I guess XD]
I totally want to reprint Corporate Takeover in a larger size......... *q*

Announcement!

Tue May 27, 2014, 7:42 AM
Hello~ It's hard to believe May is almost over and June will be here. o_o What? How is the year flying by so quickly?? oAo

Um, well! I have a short but exciting announcement! :la:

I’m actually going to be adapting a novel into a manga! :wow: It’s still sort of surreal to me and we’re just getting started with it, but…yes! To sum it up, it’s a sort of fantasy story involving thievery, magic, mess-ups, and the struggle to define what “right” and “wrong” really is. The novel was, overall, a good read, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to transform it into a manga format! I’m nervous, but I want to do my very best, with God’s help, to make it a great work that both the author and I can be proud of. ;v;/ I'll share more info when I can! x3

Uuuu... ;v;

Ah, also, I’ve finished my commissions for this month! I think I'm going to update my commissions journal though--I want to be able to take commissions for dA subs as well, instead of just Paypal, so maybe I'll make one slot for that...

This is unrelated, but I'm actually really excited for the Pokemon games coming out this year! Not that I've not been excited in the past, but Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald were the first Pokemon games I played, so seeing them getting remade is really exciting! :la: Even if I can't play them because I don't have a 3DS lol;; ...Haven't played X or Y either;;;

With today, the eventful weekend that was MTAC has come to an end! Thank you so much to everyone who stopped by my table, for your kind words and encouragement, and of course for purchasing something! I really appreciated all of it. This was my first time going to a large convention and my first time selling, so throughout this entire experience--the preparation, the printing, the con itself--I have learned a whoooooole lot, and I'm so thankful for all the help, advice, and support given to me. T v T I'll do my best from now on too!

Overall, it was fun and I really enjoyed the panels with Eric Stuart and Dan Green!! So many people bought my YGO! print to have signed, which really made me happy T v T

I'll be back next year!

This week I'll upload some art, write a proper post about my whole MTAC experience, share photos, etc. And...reply to comments...and start working on commissions...and other things.... lol. First I must sleep

My Storenvy is now open! Please check it out -> yuki.storenvy.com

I'm selling leftovers there! I'll add stickers tomorrow. :la:

  • Listening to: the TV
Hello, everybody!! I'm not quite off hiatus yet, but I have been quite busy in the meantime and have some news to share!

:bulletpink: You may have seen it in the custom box on my profile page already, or on my blog or Twitter if you follow me there, but I have a table in the Artist Alley at MTAC this year! This year MTAC takes place from April 18 - 20 in Murfreesboro, TN. I don't have information on where my table will be yet, but I will update this journal with that info when I get it. *^^*

MTAC Website: mtac.net

I sent my files in for printing yesterday evening, just making my deadline literally thanks to God--I managed to finish up four pictures in one day, which is NOT typically something I could do, so it was amazing. ; w ;
This is my first experience printing like this, and as this is also the first convention I'm selling at I've had to learn a lot of things all at once, really quickly, but I'm thankful. :)
Anyway, this is why I've been so busy! (Sorry for taking so long to respond to comments and emails guhh T . T) I still have stickers to do, but since we're printing them ourselves I can do them a little more leisurely and I may actually have time to open Skype and talk properly. :P

:bulletpink: My Storenvy will be opened fairly soon, though I can't take product photos until my prints arrive, so because of the timing on that I likely won't have anything available to buy until after MTAC. But I will update again when it's open!

Ummmmmmm

In other news, it's finally Spring!! :la: The season of new beginnings! But it's going back and forth between being warm and being cold... The tree outside my window was in full bloom last week, but now most of the blossoms are gone thanks to rain and wind... It's a bit sad to me, but the green leaves are really vibrant and right now, the sky is blue and the birds are chirping, so cold or not it's a lovely day. :)

P.S. Saturday we watched the movie God's Not Dead. I recommend it highly. Very engaging and intense. INTENSE. o_____o

Official Notice of Hiatus

Tue Oct 15, 2013, 1:39 PM
Hey there! ^^/
You may have noticed that I'm not really active on here as of late--which is why I moved the Twitter module to the top of my profile page so you guys can see I'm still alive--but I haven't really given any official notice of a hiatus, which is what I'm doing now. (Sorry to all my new watchers...please stick around; I definitely will be coming back!)

:star-empty:What's going on??
Things happen, and when my focus is required elsewhere, well...you know. I've questioned myself a lot this year about a lot of things...about what my goals are, why my efforts in several things seem to be futile, things like that; the main thing is that I initially took too much on (:bulletpink:as detailed in this post on my blog). I'm learning not to do that anymore, and among other things, I'm rediscovering my dreams and goals so I can rise above the to-do lists and finally get somewhere. :)

:star-half:When will you start uploading art again??
I honestly don't know. Hopefully soon, but lately all the art I've been doing is for school, contests for school, applications, and design sketches for my original stories, plus the occasional doodle here and there. So basically is a lot of stuff that I either can't upload [yet] or have no reason to upload. My most recent upload of art at the moment is on :bulletblue:Tumblr, done for the Pokemon XY countdown. The most recent art altogether is a doodle of :bulletred:Aka I sketched last night with a pen....but it's not uploaded anywhere.

:star:Where will you be during your hiatus???
Where I have been! All my links are in the "About Me" box: Twitter, email, my blog, Skype if you poke me enough times! (I'm just really bad about getting on Skype, sorry;;;; orz)
