20mm M1A1 Post-Apoc
An old 1/72 M1A1 Abrams that I had was certainly worse for the wear after moving around the country, and sitting in storage for so long, I needed to fix it any way.  I'd contemplated doing a hard SF near future conversion, and instead of the anti-grav conversion, it maintained the treads and got post-apocalyptic corrugated sheet skirt armor to replace the original skirt armor that fell off.  Sheet styrene in the form of the corrugated sheet and flat metal plates were used, along with a T-pin and lighter to make bullet holes and dings and scratches.

So, why the 20mm scale?  Well, that is 1/72nd roughly, just for miniature soldiers.  So I use this tank in a table top war game called Gaslands from Osprey Publishing, along with other popular die cast toy cars (Hotwheels and Matchbox for example) converted to the game.

Took me a while to get done with this.  Done using Manga Studio EX5, now known as Clip Paint Studio Pro or some such...  Great program!  Why pay more for Painter or Photoshop (with Adobe only leasing it to you anyway)?!

Mostly just used the light pencil, dark pencil, and blend tools on two layers.
Well, my art has changed since I first came here.  Initially, I was all about sculpture with polymer clay and digital illustration.

Hate to say it, but those days are past (really, just on the back burner...) for the time being with life running amok.

Instead my art has become the martial art of Aikido (obviously not displayed here), learning the Highland Bagpipes (still just on the practice chanter struggling with the basics, again, not something you post to DA), painting my miniatures (so, those will pop up some more), and making 3D print models (I might have to post links to my Thingiverse).

I'm still alive, still trying to be artistic in some sense!
Shas'La Xo'on
This is one of my T'au Pathfinders for Warhammer 40K. Originally painted in 2006 for the 4th Edition of the game, I've recently done some quick conversions and added some more paint details to the miniature after several games of Shadow War: Armageddon. The quick conversion is a pair of Pulse Pistols to reflect the "Gunfighter" skill this character obtained post battle (interestingly enough, after surviving a fall from his sniping position).

When I painted my T'au army in '06, I painted them in the colors of the Bork'an Sept and gave the bases a winter appearance. I figure it is serviceable camoflauge in the steel and concrete jungle of the Promethium Sprawl.
So, I've been light on the art side lately.

This is not a problem really.

I've finished my associates degree in applied science and will get my Precision Machine CNC Technology degree soon followed by a number of Mechanical Design and Drafting certificates.  This after putting AutoCAD use to the side for over 15 years while I served in the military and did odd jobs until returning to school in 2013.

I am also employed part time as a draftsman who gets to dabble in design work once in a while.

Not bad, but busy.

So, I shall finish up some projects, and when time allows, let everyone know what I've been up to when I can catch up.  That might be a while.

It's one of my favorite illustrations from the old Star Wars RPG Scouts book!  I'd be remiss not to include it in my Favorites!  I find the black and white illustrations in RPG books very inspiring, and part of the reason I picked up pen and ink techniques myself.

"Diplomacy" is one of MY favorites as well, Michael. Everything just kind of fit together really nicely in the piece. My WEG days were ALOT of fun!  It's gratifying to hear that you enjoyed my work. Espewcially gratifying to hear (and see) that in inspired you to express yourself creatively. Quite an honor!

Hey Sudsy, could you please add an icon for the "#Trad-Aviation-Art" Group? Would make it much easier to identify and likely increase its popularity too. Thanks :)

You know, that is a fantastic idea...  You might have spawned a contest...  Or at least a brain storm session.
