BMP Painting in progress
Figured I'd share a bit of how I worked on the Patoroch BMP MICV....

Here is my work bench.  On the right you can see my high tech food container that was turned into a wet palette using parchment paper with a wet paper towel under it, and my cheep Delta Ceramcoat acrylic paints squirted on top of the parchment paper.  I will let the results speak for themselves.  I'm not out to win Golden Demon awards or anything though, but I must say, the model still looks sharp!

Amazing what a bit of paint will do on top of well assembled cereal and cracker boxes along with some index card stock and just plain old typing/copy paper (most of the small tubes were rolled paper)!

Yes folks, that is a paper scale model.  More cracker/cereal box and index card to specific.  Designed by the Ukrainian designer Elli Patoroch (www.facebook.com/patoroch67/) best known for his 40K proxy models.  I however find his original designs superior to those, but then, 40K gothic armor, with the exception of Eldar and Tau, looks stupid to me.  A BMP-2 however, makes better sense than the Chimera...  So, I had to build this one!

A few notes:  printed at 91% original size (the original is designed for ISO A4 paper, I'm using ANSI A [US Letter] size)

So, I've been light on the art side lately.

This is not a problem really.

I've finished my associates degree in applied science and will get my Precision Machine CNC Technology degree soon followed by a number of Mechanical Design and Drafting certificates.  This after putting AutoCAD use to the side for over 15 years while I served in the military and did odd jobs until returning to school in 2013.

I am also employed part time as a draftsman who gets to dabble in design work once in a while.

Not bad, but busy.

So, I shall finish up some projects, and when time allows, let everyone know what I've been up to when I can catch up.  That might be a while.

It's one of my favorite illustrations from the old Star Wars RPG Scouts book!  I'd be remiss not to include it in my Favorites!  I find the black and white illustrations in RPG books very inspiring, and part of the reason I picked up pen and ink techniques myself.

"Diplomacy" is one of MY favorites as well, Michael. Everything just kind of fit together really nicely in the piece. My WEG days were ALOT of fun!  It's gratifying to hear that you enjoyed my work. Espewcially gratifying to hear (and see) that in inspired you to express yourself creatively. Quite an honor!

Hey Sudsy, could you please add an icon for the "#Trad-Aviation-Art" Group? Would make it much easier to identify and likely increase its popularity too. Thanks :)

You know, that is a fantastic idea...  You might have spawned a contest...  Or at least a brain storm session.

hey thanks for the comment.to answer your question ya it did stand by its self but i simply did not trust it enough to continue with the project and waste my paint.to be onest everthing was going well untill i put the sword on his hand it put to much presure on a certain point on his stomach and the clay began to chip so again i just scraped it.now that you mention it i cant remember the name of the type of wire i used but it was a heavy duty wire that is used for a number of things one is the spokes on motor bike wheels.hope that answers your questions.again thanks
