I'm interviewed!

Journal Entry: Wed Aug 20, 2008, 9:12 PM

Hey everyone!  Katie Schwartz, blogger, essayist, and author of "Emotionally Pantsed," just interviewed me on her blog.   She truly is the awesomest chick ever.   Read it and get the dish on what Chris Sarandon thought of my drawing of him from "The Princess Bride"!

I'm so sure that in *a few* years I'll be seeing your books in international bookshops in Greece. I'm SO sure of it...

No problem- I just emailed you. It's good that you're asking people for help. I did that when my agent first sent me a query re: representing me. Anyway, I hope that my answer helps!

Thanks so much for your help, haven't opened your mail yet (lack of time) but I will. I hope you don't mind if I shower you with questions now and again...... You're experienced, I'm kinda lost here. Thanks!

Ah well, at least I'm not the only one who procrastinates on correspondance! You shouldn't wait too long to respond to that publicist, though.

Feel free to ask me questions whenever you like! I'm happy to help. :)

Cool! It's always good to read interviews from other artists, it's so interesting.

To draw 10-12 hours a day sounds like a dream (especially if your illustrations don't fail you), but as always, it depends on the kind of things you're drawing, if you like the commission or not, if you run out of time, etc. In any case, I wish I had just one week to spend drawing every day :)

Congrats, girl! And I'm glad you're looking to move back to my City. ;)

As for what publishing was years back, the stories you heard are true. I had a friend who did art for Margaret K. McElderry [link] and it was much more friendlier then!

Wonderful interview, I really enjoyed it (and your response to Chris Sarandon about the shoes, hahaha :XD:).

Great interview :D

And that is indeed true about the YA novel covers. What's up with all the cheap photoshopped covers? o__O;;; They're everywhere...

You also see a lot of covers for YA historicals that look more like tampon ads... :P
