Twilight meets Twin Peaks by suburbanbeatnik Twilight meets Twin Peaks by suburbanbeatnik
I'm afraid that only two people are going to get this joke, but I couldn't resist doing it anyway. "Twin Peaks"- an amazing TV show from the early '90s, created and directed by David Lynch- was about a quirky FBI man, special Agent Dale Cooper (a young and hot Kyle MacLachlan), investigating the murder of homecoming queen Laura Palmer in the quirky and mysterious town of Twin Peaks in Washington state. Cooper loved his coffee and cherry pie, which was a recurring motif in the show. It was filmed in North Bend, not so far where I was living in Seattle at the time, and whenever I went to the Mar-T diner (now called Twede's), I would always get a slice of cherry pie. I am sure this is where my current cherry pie fixation comes from.

Reading "Twilight," it wasn't such a jump for me to imagine Agent Cooper in Forks, meeting Bella and Edward from the "Twilight" saga. And of course, there's the cherry pie. You gotta have the pie.

I did this in my Holbein sketchbook, which has nice thick paper that took my four attempts to draw Kyle MacLachlan's beautiful but odd face. I used some acrylics, colored pencils and an India ink pen.

This is so full of win-- I love the job you did on Agent Cooper and the MacLachlan Chin Of Excellence.

Also, I am compelled to shout DUDE!, because the past couple of days have had me imagining a crossover... Of course, I imagined Bella Swan wrapped in plastic (probably because I'm the Twin Peaks fan who just lives with a Twilight fan, and thus have no compunctions killing her?)

Anyway, this made me grin like a loon. And want cherry pie.

Hehe, so glad you like! Are you thinking of writing a crossover? I would love to see Agent Cooper facing off against a bunch of sparkly vampires.

Mmmm... cherry pie...

I've *thought* about writing a crossover, but I don't think I could, since I've never actually read the books. Then again, Stephanie Meyer has apparently never been to the pacific northwest, so maybe I shouldn't let that stop me...

(ooh, pass the cream, 'cause I am feeling CATTY!)

Well, you should at least give the first book, Twilight, a quick read before you write a crossover. There's plenty of places to find it for free... no reason to put more money in Smeyer's wallet, you know. ;P

Yeah, Smeyer fails at writing the Pac NW. Kudos to Lynch for filming the pilot there!

Yeah, my house is a good place to find it free, since my sister already bought it. Or got it as a gift. Something like that. I just know I keep seeing the books pop up in the living room, or the car, or various other places.

this was a cool show its story was way ahead of its time and bob was creepy as hell, did you know bob was originally the sound technician on the show but the director thought he looked really creepy so he wrote him in as bob. good art work by the way

well im an Aussie so i have no idea about what north west is like so a bit unsure what parts of the twin peaks show was parody of the American culture and which parts are just twisted story lines. but im sure there really are parasitic spirits that kill innocent girls and wrap them in plastic that has to be real lol

Glad I'm not the only one. So many rabid Twifans were complaining that the movie "wasn't as good as the book"... and I thought, "dude, considering the source material, they're lucky that the movie was even watchable!" :P

I'm so mean sometimes...
