The Sultana page 1 by suburbanbeatnik The Sultana page 1 by suburbanbeatnik
I did a guest comic for Lora Innes, called "The Sultana," online today at The Dreamer website! It's all about everyone's favorite hussy, Betsy Loring, told from the POV of nice young miss Peggy Shippen (aka the future Mrs. Benedict Arnold), a girl who just wants to meet her. And admire her fabulous hair.

I was going for a 1960s-1970s romance comic feeling here: the end result is something like, Marvel Romance meets Tom Jones (the novel, not the singer).

Thank you! I had fun using Copics to create the vintage '60s comics style coloring.

Thanks! It was fun to do-- and I like to think this is one of the few times a proper robe a la francaise has been showcased in a comic. :)

I like it, the drawing technique you have used as well as the colouring is good, though i just personally feel that the ink lines around the routes could have been a bit straighter and the colouring a bit more powerful.
