Here’s a new piece-- The Centurion’s Unlawful Slave. It’s for a romance about a senator’s daughter sold illegally into slavery in the 1rst century BCE, and bought by a handsome centurion, living in a Roman colony in North Africa. More 1980s classic romance novel inspired goodness!
Greata! Now I wish someone would write the book, preferably with a fair amount of sex and slavery (but no serious violence).
Another magnificently MGM-worthy piece; all it needs is dear old Finlay Currie overlooking all this sinfulness as St Peter and whispering "It'll all end in tears" more in sorrow than in Anger.
Thanks! It's for a historical romance, and it's pretty much explicitly an homage to 1980s paperback covers, like this one-- www.tazran.com/uploads/1215875… -- which were often homages to old films, but sexed WAY up. I don't suppose Finlay Currie as St Peter would approve of graphic sex scenes...
Which is precisely why you need somebody around to add a delightful aura of forbidden fruit to the whole business, no matter how vanilla it may seem to the more daring amongst the audience.
Very nice! Reminds me of classic Hollywood movies about the Romans. Kind of that movie-poster style a bit, too, in a really good way.
