The Aristotelian by suburbanbeatnik The Aristotelian by suburbanbeatnik
This is my new ebook cover-- for Steve Poling's "The Aristotelian" (or part one of The Secret Archives of the Diogenes Club). It is an excellent story about a teenaged Sherlock Holmes, and his brother Mycroft too. It also features a hot actress who rides astride (as she daringly wears jodhpurs). Check it out here on Amazon, or here on Smashwords. It's only 99 cents.

You can read an interview with the author here, at Dark Valentine Magazine: [link]

This looks great, I like your very traditional style of drawing.

On the topic of Sherlock Holmes, I am looking forward to seeing what they do with the next film. Apparently Mycroft will be in it, played by Stephen Fry if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks!

I haven't seen the Guy Ritchie Holmes movie yet. Is it any good?

Well it was different from most of the Sherlock Holmes films done in the past but then it would be with Robert Downey Jr as Holmes. Still it kept largely to the spirit of the stories with a bit more action (just a bit).

Personally I'm just interested to see Stephen Fry as Mycroft in the next one and his interactions with RDJ.

Aw wow this is brilliant :D
your anatomy work on both horses and humans is pretty good (I like how the lighting highlights the horse's muscle areas) and the environment itself is quite calming :)
Not to mention classy gents in suits of course c:

Hey, thanks! The horse was hard, but it helped I had a really good reference photo. I'd never painted a horse before, and I wanted to sure I nailed it...

It's good to draw things just for the sake of it I guess :)
You're welcome!

LOL, not really-- I painted it because it was a job, and that's what the client wanted. He was pretty happy with it though! :)

This is super nice. I love how all of your paintings mimic your sketches... or rather, you paint the way you draw. :D

Thanks! It's practically the only way I can paint, though-- a Frazetta I am not. ;P

Both Leonardo and Michelangelo made sketches.

I like it, though. Most people draw and paint in completely separate methods.
