This sketch was done after meeting Kathleen Duey, author of "American Diaries: Mary Alice Peale," an excellent book, set during Revolutionary War Philadelphia, but cursed with a horrible cover. Kathleen and I laughed about the awful cover, and then I was inspired to go and do my own version of it, including a well-dressed little girl (modelled after Kirsten Dunst in "Interview with a Vampire") and a hot redcoat. Soon after I did the sketch, I signed on with my current agent; and I decided to take it to a finish.
Such a lovely drawing. I love how you make every drawing tell a story!
You're very welcome
Really lovely, ur pencilwork is beautiful!
Love it in both uncolored and colored version. I get the feeling you were inspired by Michelle Pfieffer for the girl...
very nice, but her shoulders bother me a little, even though if i attempted someething like this i would probably draw far more horribly! but still good work you amazing artist you!
