Bon Appetit Adora by suburbanbeatnik Bon Appetit Adora by suburbanbeatnik
This is a piece that was commissioned for Hanan Levin for his Tumblr blog, "Adorable," which collects art and photos of his daughter Adora. I decided to go with a ornate pastel "Marie Antoinette" feeling for the piece, featuring the kind of macaroons made by Laduree for the 2006 movie. It turns out that Mlle. Levin has a fierce sweet tooth, and is becoming a bit of a foodie like her dad, so he was very pleased with the pic.

Wow, she's adorable! For some reason, I think her hand is really cute too, haha. Looking at all those macaroons makes my teeth hurt. :XD:

Also, Adorable- Adora. Yeah, I see what her dad did there. ;P That guy really loves his kid! We need more fathers like that. lol

Aww, thanks! What a nice comment. :)

I didn't paint it though... I used Copic markers. But I'm glad it makes you want to paint!

I'm a bit bemused by the recent trendy food fad for 'french style' macaroons - growing up that was the only thing I knew by the name. I still remember the first time someone handed me a ball of cocoanut after they asked if I wanted a macaroon and I was completely confused...

I know I've had macaroons at some point... but I can't remember when. Maybe the last time I was in France? It's hard to say... :P
