Valentines Day

Designed to make the average consumer spend money on useless goods that supposedly, "Make your girlfriend or wife love you more". I don't deny, that yes, maybe it works. The point of the matter is that if you have no-one, you are gonna be depressed as you watch hundreds of girls walking around with giant balloons and flowers and teddy bears.
The day was designed by the large corporate companies to sell their products. Mainly chocolate companies, who make a killing selling their crappy chocolates in a "special" heart-shaped box. How exciting.
Maybe it's because I'm not currently in a relationship, but I just don't see the point of buying things on valentines day, collapsing under public pressure. People will try to cover it with things like, "Buy our crap to raise money for some charity", but the profits are going to them.
If you want to be different, break away from the public pack, give your girlfriend some dead flowers, an empty box of chocolates, and a deflated balloon. If she leaves you, you know she is a shallow heartless bitch, lacking a sense of humour, and the ability to realise that no matter how many presents you give, the quality of said presents, or when you give them, you should love your significant other.
Don't get me wrong, I got nothing against giving your girlfriend flowers, or some chocolates, or whatever you want. But when it comes to the day, avoid valentines day.
You want her to feel special? Get away from the publicly accepted day, and make your own, to show how much you really do love her. Cause nothing says, "I couldn't be bothered trying hard to make you feel special", like giving her the cliche'd gift of flowers and chocolate.
Listen to me, or ignore me. Hate me, or love me. I don't care. But remember that Valentines day is a desperate grab for money, and sales. Nothing more.
You don't need to wait for a day with a name to show her how much you love her.
