Hello! pleasure to meet you and welcome to the group! I don't necessarily have any questions about Japan, I do know it's a very beautiful country! but if I were to ask a question it would be pretty small, what's candy like over there? I have seen some stuff online and some of the sweets they have are pretty exclusive from america.
There are various candies in Japan. It features a modest amount of sweetness and coloring and is healthy. There is a strong tendency to value the taste of nature, so the slightly upscale fruit flavors are fairly authentic and flavorful.
Here are some Japanese candies.
"Bontan candy", a specialty of southern Japan. A distinctive retro package design wrapped in oblate. Texture like mochi. A faint citrus scent. The taste is quite light.
"Pine candy". Among Japanese candies, it is quite old. There is a hole in the center, and it is characterized by a pineapple-shaped model.
"Sakuma Drops". A historic candy that also appeared in the movie "Grave of the Firefly". Currently, it is sold by two companies. You can enjoy various tastes with one can. Traditional cans have a taste, but they are difficult to open.
"Hi-Chew". Soft candy that represents Japan. A similar product is "Puccho", which is kneaded with gummy candies.
My personal recommendation is Fujiya's "Lemon Squash Candy". Faithfully reproduce the taste of the carbonated drink of the same name. The crispy candy contains plenty of squishy powder. You can enjoy the pleasant texture, refreshing and stimulating lemon flavor.
