Who is the the Author?
Alfonso Espinos lives on Kitchener Ontario, Canada and he specializes in customer service training, Business Writing and Management, he also has had practiced the video, audio, media resources and editing, but his career is focused to write and illustrate a comic book named The Night Spike.
Alfonso was born in Mexico City, and at a early age developed strong interest in the sequential art better known as comics or “historietas”, this hobby help him to reach his imagination, creativity and opportunities to a different level.
By the year 1999, Alfonso starts printing his graphic work in local newspapers and magazines, this same year become part of the creative team of Lulu Comics, since then he has participated in numerous comic book events , conventions and worked as a freelance for numerous magazines.
In the reach to generate a good initiative to support the comic books industry he became founder of some publishing media such as A.C. Comics and Fanzine Comics, but wasn't until 2001 when he funds Studiocomix Press where he has become the project's chief editor, manager and publisher of The Night Spike and various projects from artist from all over the world.
In his trajectory he has had provided symposiums regarding the comic book history and comic book creation specially focused in Universities and Rotary Clubs, in the last few years he has participated in as a comic book/ manga art instructor for the Cambridge Libraries & Galleries
He won the "Cobachaward" for character of the year in 2008 and for 2009 the Night Spike was nominated for the Canadian Comic Awards the "Joe Shuster Awards”
In 2010 was invited to participate in the creation of the Stan Lee Foundation Logo.
For 2011 he produced the first Canadian Independent Comic Book Variant cover of The Night Spike as an exclusive for the ComicCon Mexico and Art-O-Con in Burlington.
In present days he keeps creating and illustration comic books, he still the Chief Editor of Studiocomix Press and manages various titles besides the one of his own such as: All Jack City, 2010, Six Faces of a Dice, Perdu Cirque and Hurricane.
