Due to the success of my stalls at comic book conventions I have decided to add a shop to my website.

take a look on as this is my first attempt at making a shop and I am not a web designer any feedback will be welcome.

Also as Christmas is soon approaching I have also made a Christmas Card Bumper Pack of all 13 of my designs.  Ideal Christmas Cards to those people who don't like Christmas ;-)
I have now booked a few more comic conventions for next year.  Including the MCM London which I have had my eye on for a while but it was sold out until today when they released more tables.

Here is my list so far...

  • Armadacon, Plymouth 16-17th November 2013
  • MCM Birmingham 23-24th November 2013
  • Exeter Comic Expo 1st December 2013
  • AniManga Pop!, Plymouth 8th February 2014
  • London Super Comic Con 15-16th March 2014
  • Bristol Comic Expo 10-11th May 2014
  • London MCM 23-25th May 2014
  • ICE International Comic Expo, Birmingham 2nd August 2014

It seems I will be quite busy next year.  Good times :-D

You may have noticed that I have not posted anything on DA for a while.  The reason for this is I am working on a new book and my publisher wants it out for Christmas so it is a mad rush to get it done and all other illustration work has been put on hold.  The book will be based on my Christmas card design and written by Leyland Perree (who wrote my previous books The Great Reef Race and Which Witch is Which?).  Here is the chap the book is based on...

Christmas Pudding Monster by stuartmcghee

I also have a few comic conventions to do before Christmas so I hope I get it all done in the next couple of weeks.  I am not used to working this fast and I hope the standard is up to my previous works.

Talking of Comic Conventions (all in the United Kingdom) here is a list of where I will be attending selling my cards and prints...

16-17 Novemeber 2013 - Armadacon (Plymouth)
23-24 November 2013 - MCM Birmingham
1 December 2013 - Comic Expo Exeter
15-16 March 2014 - London Super Comic Convention
10-11 May 2014 - Bristol Comic Expo

There is a few more I have my eye on and I will update my list as soon as they are booked.

Just finished the Dev Con 1 Sci-Fi and Comic Convention in my home town of Plymouth on Saturday and this has given me enough money to buy a table at London Super Comic Con next year.  Also somebody asked me if I would do Armadacon in November and I have sent an e-mail and I am still waiting to hear.

Here is my up to date list of Conventions I will be attending...

5th October 2013 - Nerd Fest in Nottingham
14-17th November 2013 - Armadacon, Plymouth (to be confirmed)
23-24th November 2013 - MCM Birmingham
1st December - Exeter Comic Expo
15-16th March 2014 - London Super Comic Convention

I have my eyes on some other conventions and I am waiting until they go live for bookings.
I had an awesome time at the MCM Scotland in Glasgow this weekend.  I sold many cards and prints, I have also had a few inquiries about commissions too. :w00t!:
You may of noticed I have had a sudden attack of motivation.  I think it is down to having more work coming my way.  I am off to Glasgow, Scotland this weekend to run a table selling cards and prints of my drawings at the MCM Scotland, just found out that they are extending the opening times due to high ticket sales which bodes well.  I have another convention at the end of the month is my home town of Plymouth, Dev Con 1, this is the first convention of this size in Plymouth, so it should be interesting.

Also my publisher has asked me to illustrate a book based on my Christmas pudding monster Christmas Pudding Monster by stuartmcghee the only problem is that he wants it for this Christmas and the author Leyland Perree has not even finished writing it yet.
I have recently broken up with my girlfriend and all my motivation has gone.

Apart from the breakup things are going my way with my next children's book due for release in October and the many comic conventions where I will be selling cards anid prints.

I should be very motivated but I am not.
I have now booked and payed for a table at the MCM Scotland Comic Con.  I now have 4 conventions booked....

MCM Scotland (7th September 2013)
Plymouth Anime & Comic Expo (21st September 2013)
Nerfest Nottingham (5th October 2013)
MCM Birmingham (23-24th November 2013)

There is a possiblity of two more conventions, I will keep you informed.

These are all in the United Kingdom at the moment, buy who knows one day I may do one near you one day ;-)
Here is my Facebook fan page…

And my twitter page

Also here is my personal website

Enjoy :D
I have just booked a table for my first 'big' comic book convention, the MCM Birmingham Comic Con in the UK.  I am a little scared, I had just done the Bristol Comic Expo and got some really good feedback so I hope I can make a hefty profit as there will be lots more going to the Birmingham one.  So that is now 3 comic book conventions I have booked, Plymouth Comic Con (my home town) in September and Nerd Fest in Nottingham in October.

I will be selling A5 greeting cards of the fan art images I have here and some select funny cards too.  I will also be selling A4 prints too.  All I need now is some more money to buy in some more stock.

New Characters for Bristol Comic Con

Journal Entry: Fri Feb 22, 2013, 10:32 AM
You may have noticed I have been flooding Deviant Art with character pictures from Sci-Fi and Comic Books.  The reason for this is I am working on creating greeting cards with the images on them to sell at the Bristol Comic Con (May 11-12th) in the UK.

I have a 6 foot table to fill, but I do not know what else to sell apart from greeting cards any ideas on what else to put the images on that will sell?  I am thinking A3 prints too, but I am totally stuck as to what else I can do.

Also I have so far created 20 characters, I have some ideas for more characters, but what characters would you like to see me create for sale at a comic con?

I am almost finished with the children's book I am working on 'The Great Reef Race' written by Leyland Peree and published by Ghostly Publishing.

The Great Reef Race by stuartmcghee

Because of the amount of time it has taken me to complete the work I have not really looked at Deviant Art in a long time and I now have 11k worth of images to look through :P

On the previous journal I asked for your interperation of my Met-Al character and here they are...

Up for a challenge?

Journal Entry: Thu Jul 5, 2012, 1:18 AM

As I am pretty busy with children's book I am working on I have not been able to post much pictures.  So I had an idea...

...Why not let YOU do the drawings for me.

I challenge each and every one of you to draw my Met-Al character (as below) in your own special style.

Met-Al Reference Sheet by stuartmcghee

I will post the best on this journal and I may even throw some points to my favorite.

Happy drawing

New Etsy Shop

Journal Entry: Thu Jun 14, 2012, 2:24 AM

I have just opened a shop on Etsy I wanted somewhere to sell my handmade stuff such as ACEO's and greeting cards.

At the moment I have only one item for sale on there but I am hoping to add more later on.

The Great Reef Race

Journal Entry: Thu May 31, 2012, 3:57 AM

The book I am illustrating 'The Great Reef Race' is now avaiable on pre-order on Amazon…

The book is a children's book based on the underwater adventure of Eel and Ock.

This is quite a good project for me as I work part-time at the Marine Biological Association of the United Kingdom and I have managed to sneak in some actual creatures not normally seen in children's book.

I will post some art work on here soon.

No more wolfgangmustdie

Journal Entry: Thu May 17, 2012, 1:19 AM

Just found out that Deviant art has a name change option, so I have decided to change my user name into my actual name.  Now I am professional it makes sense so people can find my art.

Wolfgangmustdie came from an old t-shirt printing business I had...hmmm must be around 4-5 years ago now...but I had to close it because I knew nothing of t-shirt printing.

Wolfgang Must Die came from my nickname is Wolfgang (I don't know where i got it from :/) and I am a bi-polar depressent so it was kind of a mick take on me.  I also had the idea of Wolfgang being the negative side of me, so he must die to release the positive side of me.  It was all very deep.

So anyways welcome to my new name... Stuart McGhee :D
