Finally, well over a year after I made it, I have some photos that showcase my RE6 Sherry costume. It's a cool time to be jumping back into the RE fandom with the announcement of Resident Evil: Revelations 2. Revelations was a pretty good game so I'm pumped for 2! Looks like I'll be poking Ammie to be Claire and I'm considering Cosplaying Barry's daughter Moira. (^^) I can't wait to hear more about the game.
Anyway, I started working on this costume in December 2012 and I finished it in February 2013. I wore the costume at Anime North 2013 for a few hours around the time of a Resident Evil panel that I was participating in as a panelist with a RE6 Cosplay group. Sadly we never really did a shoot of our costumes and we nearly had a full cast of all the main characters from the game.
My costume was made up of mostly purchased clothing that I heavily altered. I bought the blouse and I took it in, shortened it and I converted the sleeves from full length to 3/4 length. I got a belt that I cut back and the pants were also full length. I cut them down and used the excess material to make the fake back pockets and the 2 cargo pockets. The scarf was made by my friend
. It was part of my Edonia costume that I just re-used for China Sherry. The coolest parts of the costume were the leather pieces and they were all gifts from my friend
. He custom made my shoulder harness to fit my measurements. The harness was the major reason why I didn't make this costume as soon as RE6 came out because it's hard to make a harness and I'm way too petite to properly be able to wear commercially made ones. He did an absolutely amazing job on the harness. I'll post more photos of the costume on my website and the photos from behind really show just how cool the harness is. He also made my back pouch and my holster. (^^)
These photos were taken during a private shoot last weekend in an area not too far from my house. I know the game is set in June and in a heavily urban area in a Chinese city, so photos in a park in September don't really scream China Sherry, but it was great getting a chance to wear the costume again and get some nice shots of the full outfit. Hopefully one day I'll get some photos with my friends in their awesome RE6 costumes.
for taking photos of me! We took turns photographing each other as she was wearing a Teen Wolf character costume. The photos may not be professional, but they do a nice job showing off the costume details.
