Princess Peach's Glass Castle

Stillvisions posted his photos from the shoot that I did with him at Otakuthon 2013 so I finally have a few more lovely photos of my Princess Peach costume including a shot of the updated costume in full! I'm really proud of the layer of ruffles that I made for the bottom of the dress. I think it worked really nicely with the design. Please excuse the fact that my dress could use a pressing. My costume takes a beating every con because of sitting and maneuvering around. I never did quite work out the wrinkling in the bodice, but it's a lot better than version 1. I also really like how the scalloped collar turned out, which was new for version 2. (^^)
Sometimes I look back on photos of this costume and I'm in awe that I made something so big. It was definitely one of my most ambitious projects! A big thank you goes out to :icont-toast: for making my brooch and crown!

Beautiful dress and great work! I know how annoying satin can be to work with but it still looks so nice! I also made Peach and the dress is heavy as can be but I still loved it. One day I'll remake it. Your material looks heavier than what I used so it's probably even harder to work with.

Thank you so much! That's very kind of you to say. I practically ruined a cheap sewing machine trying to sew the dress together. Every panel of the dress weighed a ton and a regular machine could hardly handle the weight especially when it came to connecting the skirt to the top! I'm glad I had a cheap machine to sacrifice when working on this costume. XD I broke many heavy duty sewing machine needles! No pain, no gain! (^^) Best wishes if you decide to re-make the dress. It's such a fun experience Cosplaying Peach. I really want to wear my costume again.

Stillvisions really outdid himself with this photo! Not only does it display your amazing dress it really adds great atmosphere and mood to the picture. I can see the improvements you made to your dress quite noticeably. It really turned out incredible! Hats off to you as well wearing it. I know you used that heavy weight satin too! One day I will get around to making my Peach cosplay..one day lol. Maybe I should make Rosalina to go along with you lol

Thank you! I'm really hard on myself, but the costume really has come a long way. After working with satin for this, I'm not sure if I want to work with it again for any large costumes. Dealing with the running and the heavy nature of it for big skirts was so difficult! You've made quite a few princess dresses so I don't know how you manage it!

I would love to Cosplay from Mario with you! <3 You would be a very pretty Rosalina. I know whenever you Cosplay Peach it's going to be absolutely incredible!

You're soo sweet! This costume stressed me out so much when I was making it, but I'm happy that I finished it and that I took some time to fix it up.

I cannot wait to see your Rosalina costume!! I'm pumped to do a shoot with you! I'm really excited about when we can make that happen! (^^)

Thank you! The convention centre for Otakuthon is a really interesting building. It's probably one of the most unique convention centres that I can think of from any con that I've been to. Just a stones throw away from this hallways was a collection of pink tree sculptures that are super bizarre. The opposite wall of this coloured hallway was where the purple light backdrop was that I used for my Saturn photos. It's a pretty cool place. (^^)
