I mostly finished my Kagome (Inuyasha) costume for the Anime North Halloween Festival last month. I gave it a test run at the event and had a fun time. I need to replace the zipper in my skirt (I accidentally made the skirt a tad too big so I had to use a safety pin to tuck it in a bit) and Pan is going to help me style the Arda wig that I bought. The wig that I'm wearing here was one that I borrowed from Pan. I bought a bow kit from an eBay seller that I'm nearly finished working on now. It took me about a month of sewing, working for a little bit most evenings and a few hours on the weekend, to finish it.

I'm really glad that I was able to keep working on this even though my life has been very chaotic and challenging since my mother passed away in September. I learned how to sew from my mom and I wouldn't have gotten into Cosplay without everything she taught me. I'm happy, at least, that I'll continue to sew in the future so I can carry on with the skills that I learned from her.

My Kagome costume is actually my second time Cosplaying as this character. My mother and I worked on a Kagome costume for me back in 2002. It was my second ever costume back when wigs were optional (or were party quality). I've come along way with sewing and Cosplay since then and I'm very happy with my new Kagome costume.
