Interesting project! Pretty nice, actually. But you should show folks what you are trying to replicate! [link]

In what sort of school are you studying photography?

I'm impressed. That is an ambitious photography course for a high school. I was a photography major in college but my high school offered no courses at all in photography. When my sons were in high school there was a photography course but I am quite sure that Ansel Adams was never mentioned; the course had nothing to do with the art of photography.
I'm also impressed with your photo, and the attention you have given to detail. Not much chance of finding a rose exactly like the one Adams photographed, but you did a great job with it. Are any of the other photographs in your gallery from similar projects?

Well the project was to choose two photographers and compare and contrast them, then the second part of the project was to choose one of the two photographers and take four photos in their style and one replica, and the rose was my one replica. So the other black and white photos I have on DA are also from that project, and other than that I have I think one other photo on DA from photo class, and that is the "all of me" one. And as for the attention to detail, well the little details are what make a picture or really anything artistic as good as it is

Very ambitious for a high school photography course! Congratulate your teacher for me, for instilling a sense of historic perspective into his students.
While you are comparing photographers did you look at any of the work by Margaret Bourke-White?

I shall, and it might have been on the list she gave us, but if it was then I didn't look at her work.

I began my major concentrating on photojournalism, and she was one of my heroes. If you look in my favorites folder "Journalistic Portraiture" [link] you will see some excellent photography that might have been inspired by the likes of M. B-W.
Which is neither here nor there, whatever that means....
Take care, and keep up the good work. Wishing you success in whatever you choose to pursue.
