She-Ra - Changing of the Guard by strawberrygina She-Ra - Changing of the Guard by strawberrygina
The new She-Ra looks pretty interesting so far! I know I loved what creators have done with My Little Pony. I look forward to this as well! Felt compelled to do a little sentimental changing of the guard fanart!

My favourite character on this show is Bow.

Mostly because his nifty arrows remind me of Green Arrow of DC comics.
Him being an archer that fights against the armies of an evil king also reminds me robin hood.

Bow is so cute with his enthusiasm! He's so optimistic and friendly. It's such a pleasure to watch him go!

I love this!! Each show was in a different era and now it’s time for a new beginning, to let little girls have that same heroine (with some updated values that fit our new progressive times) for the girls starting to grow up in the 2010’s. I’m so excited for the second season! She ra in the 1980’s was something people complained about just like people are complaining about the new one, that little girls need a more feminine heroine, but who cares about them! This show isn’t for them. Its for the little girls looking to have a strong female lead of a cool fantasy!!

Look, watching the new She-Ra I must say that the new aperarencia, the design of it and very ugly really, ok the old one was exaggerated, but it was better, She-Ra was a beautiful woman because strength and beauty walked together in the drawings of heroes of that time (1980s). But the new series did not do much to make the She-Ra better, the design, the colors of the design are very ugly even, bland. The new story, show did not do / nothing interesting, only told the past of a secondary character (Catra) and others, nothing really good or fun, and regular. But honestly the new She-Ra really looks like a boy, a transvestite, and androgyne stayed, look I say this without prejudice. I do not think She-Ra's new design goes very far, nothing in it has caught the attention, nor the history, nor the drawings and the design, and even the colors were agreed I think that of 3 seasons at the maximum, this if the second is at least interesting.

You are entitled to your opinion. I completely disagree on every point. My five and seven year olds LOVE it. The messages and themes work very well for children. The new show had characters of all body types. Looking back at the old She-Ra--which I watched as a kid and revisited as an adult-- has cookie-cutter body types for all of the women. That's fine to have them all in barbie shape bodies, but the new show makes the effort to be more realistic and show girls they don't have t be so narrowly defined to be accepted.

If you were saying this without prejudice, you would not use the term transvestite as a way to bash her appearance/design. If you do not like the designs, let's talk about the frame-rate, movement, line art, colors, special effects.

I never saw the old she ra as a kid I actually thought when this show was first announced or when I first heard of it when the cast was announced that this would be a movie and it wold be Xena warrior princess, so there's nothing to judge for me, but even with that I like it the new design.  Tho why do i like her pants in the new one so much when as she ra so much.  😂

And you are telling me now we must turn all girls into tweenks?

ARt is a diffrernet vanue then real life. Even the japanes know there should be separation between how a female is drawn and male is just so the audience won't feel comfused by a-sexual character. Yes , there are traps , but even then THEY ARE SHOWN to the audience that they are kinda that or that.

Besides all that don't forget that we are speaking of SHE-Ra not insecure little girl number #9521 . She ra Should project comfidence, power and feminity, not Insecurity, weakness and comfusion.

Yeah...until you it gets boring. Those characters only work so well until they become repetitive and not...a person. They’re less then a character they basically become a mascot.

I honestly don't mind the new design she has, but I have to admit it's kinda weird that she's a teen and her chest is completely flat, but as long as the show is still fun I don't really mind! :D

I'd say at least half the girls I knew in school as a teen were almost completely flat. I felt very conspicuous being larger chested. Being feminine has nothing to do with the size of someone's breasts.

This is a good art piece, though I'm not a fan of the intentions of the reboot design. I have two daughters and I teach them that it is ok the be feminine, sadly it seems like every cartoon female is made to be more and more masculine. I don't know what age this She-ra is going to be, but if shes 12 or 13 then she should have a figure. Not huge breasts or anything, but slight curves. I met my wife when I was 9, she was 8. When she hit 12 she was already in a D cup. I get that people didn't develop like my wife want representation in there favorite forms of entertainment, but girls like my wife never get such representation. Either way, this is a nice piece of art.

Are you kidding me? medium to insanely huge breasts are EVERYWHERE in ALL media. Your wife (and myself) are represented EVERYWHERE. Every man is butthurt now that smaller breasted or androgynous women are making an appearance, probably because now you have to look at women as actual people and not the sex symbols you're used to and it makes you uncomfortable. Breast size has NOTHING to do with being feminine. Maybe you should teach your children better values, like not putting women into MANmade boxes where their body parts determine who they are and how they feel about themselves. Stop looking at 12 and 13 year olds for their "figures," too. That's fucking creepy.

I don't know when you made this reply, I haven't been on DA for a while, I also forgot all about this art piece and comment I made on it... either way I feel I should reply to your reply. First, my wife is a Ecup as of now and no Ecup breasted character are not represented everywhere. People see a Double Dcup and say unrealistic. Along with shaming for having huge breasts... seen it first hand. Second, I never saw women as objects... ever. I didn't have any Male figures growing up, as a boy always surrounded by women, I saw the pro and cons to being a woman. Every female in my life taught me to love and respect women, along with women come in many shapes and sizes. And that femininity is what makes females unique. Third, breast sizes don't determine femininity, but breasts in general do, drawing a mannish person with no figure and no breasts and calling said person a female for a so called childrens cartoon isn't right. Finally, stop accusing males of being creeps just for noticing figures on young women, I was 12 13 once upon a time. I noticed figures forming and/or fully formed at that point. You may disagree with me and that's fine. But this argument is beating a dead horse at this point. The show came and gone and my kids told me that it sucks badly and filled with SJW nonsense. Both my wife and I are proud that our girls have a mind of there own and don't buy into media such as this Shera remake. Have a merry merry CHRISTMAS :-D

You had me up until here. A woman is not a woman if she has a flat chest. Because children. Wow. Alrighty. I guess I'll just go tell my flat chested friends to stuff their bras in the presence of children, because we wouldn't want them to get the wrong impression. Just...wow.

they gave her shorts and a smaller chest, HOW MANISH

also gotta love the implications that curvy, feminine women aren't abundant in media already.

and that non-feminine women are more common, which is bullshit, and don't deserve representation despite being demonized very often in favor of feminine behavior.

and that a woman has to be feminine, and have massive tits and curves or she's not a real woman. as if there's only one way to be a woman. as if representing diverse female body types isn't more important than making every female character look like masturbation fuel (speaking of which, nice gallery you fucking creep).

if you just said you disliked she-ra's redesign cause it doesn't give you a massive boner, it'd still be a stupid opinion but a lot more honest than trying to turn it into some diatribe about how feminine girls needing representation and how masculine girls are the devil incarnate. you want to give your girls feminine rep? there's a billion pieces of media out their catered to that.

fucking hell.

All people deserve representation including the curvy type you seem to be hating. Almost every curvy feminine character in pop culture has been taken away but these sjw types. Along with that you sjws demonize everyone and everything you don't like or agree with. You SJWs are the true oppressors of the modern day. There is room for masculine and feminine characters. Yet you SJWs want all of them... Selfish.

First, the new She-Ra DOES have curves. Everyone screaming that "she's flat" or whatever, SHE'S IN ARMOR! Look at the four stills. The ones where she is not in armor she has noticeable curves, dare I say an HOURGLASS shape. goo.gl/images/wzkzRH

ALSO, When did social justice become a BAD thing? Social justice is the equal access to wealth, opportunities, and privileges within a society. The relevant institutions often include taxation, social insurance, public health, public school, public services, labour law and regulation of markets, to ensure fair distribution of wealth, and equal opportunity. You do not want things to be fair?

Disney has curvy and feminine girls covered. Elsa and Anna are still rockin' the Disney isle at stores next to the Barbies selling all the chemical makeups you could ever desire. Princess dresses abound. My daughter LOVES to be feminine, but I like to seek out a BALANCE with shows like Nella the Princess Knight and books like The Princess in Black. Showing her that girls are MORE than just being princesses. They can be any way they choose, including NOT always being feminine. There is nothing wrong with not being feminine.

No one is trying to take She-Ra away from you (also, it's a TV show, for cryin' out loud) If you prefer the old She-Ra, share that version with your kids. It's available on Netflix right now.

You seem upset about the comments I made to the other person... I wasn't trying to upset, I wanted to have a mature dialogue with you because I liked your art.

1. My family and I love Disney, my kids included.

2. Your link doesn't work, but from all the stills I've seen and the intentions from the artist that I read, The over masculine features were on purpose and she pitched to make She-ra gay. That a huge departure from the original.

3. Its not about me losing a character, it's about one by one every unique and sexy character is being defemininised (not sure if I spell that right).

4. My girls constantly get bullied for being too feminine, but their great kids. My youngest is a lot like Penelope from Wreck it Ralph. My oldest child is like a goth Moana. (Shed kill me if I told her in the face). I've been teaching them that it is ok to be feminine.

5. From what you described Social justice, it sound great on paper... but the reality is the SJWs don't really fight for any of that.

A. The wage gap was debunked 100 time over. SJWs want more money for women then men.
B. Women get way more opportunities then men, get more pay and easier access to educational programs (I'm a stay at home Dad for a reason.)
C. The public school system is terrible, especially in NY where I grew up. Sjws took over and now girls get bullied for being unique, to feminine or to imaginative and creative. Be dealing with this with my kids.
D. I believed in all that SJW stuff years ago, but I opened my eyes. I and everyone I grew up with black, white or latino (me) had the same opportunities and chances to be successful. There is no such thing was white or black privilege, only the accountability of your actions. SJWs are liars and hypocrites. Sadly I used to be one.

I believe I covered everything, sorry for weighting a book lol. Again I wasnt trying to upset you earlier. Plus you only got a quarter of the comments. That person did most of the comments on my page. 😁
