Masters of the Universe No. 7 by stratosmacca Masters of the Universe No. 7 by stratosmacca
This is the cover I drew for Masters of the Universe, Volume 3, Issue #7.

The cover design is pretty simple, but Jeremy Roberts' colors are really what made it work. The issue itself (which I also drew) told of my favorite MotU character Stratos' origin, and the cover was designed with this in mind. It's basically an extreme close-up of Stratos' visor, with a reflection of a Birdman skeleton inside. Because Stratos was reflecting on his past in this issue, see? Yeah, I know, not very original... ;)

Anyway, this issue was great fun to work on. And yes, if I had the chance, I'd go back and redraw the whole thing now that I've learned quite a bit since! But it was really cool to be able to work on the art in MotU for a change; up until then I was mainly just used to my Editor duties, coordinating all of the MotU art from others and keeping up our schedules and such. So it was nice to be in the driver's seat for a while :)

Lineart by me, colors by :iconjprart:.

The skeleton is creepy, and I do like the composition. It compells you to look.

Sweet...simple yet effective. Those are the hardest to pull off IMO, and ya did great with it.

Actually, it came out in 2004, so it's kind of old by this point :)
