Blake's 7 Toonz: One by stratosmacca Blake's 7 Toonz: One by stratosmacca
I managed to grab some free time and quickly sketched out a short comic strip featuring Avon and Cally, my two favorite Blake's 7 characters.

In order to understand it (because I'm sure no one knows what the hell Blake's 7 is), you have to know that Avon likes to use the word "well." A lot. You can actually check out 'Not a Well Man' to listen to clips from every instance in the series' four seasons he uses the words "well now" or the word "well" to begin a sentence. I figured Cally and crew would probably get sick of it eventually.

Ahh... I love Avon! :D

You can bet there will be more B7 comic strips to come. They're very simple and easy for me to do, and right now that's a huge advantage over any of my more detailed works since I don't have much free time these days.

I now feel like we have a deep connection, as Avon and Cally are my favourites too!

These are very good. You've managed to keep their characterizations AND be funny at the same time! Not an easy task.

I remember MANY years ago, a friend asked me to tape Blakes 7 because my cable company had the channel that was running it and his (out in Queens) didn't. I got three episodes taped, my wife came in, took one look at Avon and said; "Those don't go anywhere until you've made copies for me!"

We later met Darrow (and Michael (Vila) Keating) at various  Blakes 7/Dr. Who conventions in the NYC area. Thanks for these, I'm really enjoying them.

Leeane, as a fan of Blake's 7 for too many years (is there such a thing?), I have to say I have truly enjoyed your sketches and interpretations of the crew. Between this one and the Sarcophagus strip, I can almost hear the words being said in the correct voices and inflections. Fantastic, and thank you!!!!

EPIC FACEPALM! =D Have you read Paul Darrow's autobiography? He uses the phrase "Well now" A LOT in that. It's EXCELLENT. (Seriously though, who knew an autobiography could be so funny?)

He might have trouble reprogramming computers with four fingers.

He also says "What the hell?!" a lot, which makes this strip doubly funny for me!

Reminds me of a caption contest I saw once.
Vila: 'Oh no, the autocue's gone down and we're all reduced to stock phrases!'
Avon: 'Well now...'
