Just something random that appeared to me. Somehow vaguely inspired by Heavy Metal comic book covers I saw as a child. Not by the actual covers, but the vague memory of those covers - the two of which might or might not have anything to do with each other.

Also, still practicing stuff on Houdini. The figure is a curious case, I was going for the same "real life sculpture" look when I sculpted it, but just a bit more subtle. But then it ended up being like this. So that's why the figure  has at times fairly harsh texture on her. Just remnants of the original idea that I didn't bother to try to "fix" or smooth out.

I also sort of had a magazine cover in my mind, hence the fairly obvious graphic design elements.

The figure also has a detail that I am very sad that no one will ever notice. Her legs actually are cut off halfway through her shins. The "foot" part is just that weird tentacle'ish footwear. If you look closely, you can see that you can see through where her foot/shin should be. It's a bit hard to see because of the reflections from the red light, and the black background...

I'll just revisit that idea in some other piece.

Crazy piece, like the whole piece but that part with the foot is briliant!!! :)

Haha, thanks. I thought it was a great idea, but then I noticed the footwear worked best black, and I wanted a black background for that upside down cross and all that. So I was sad when I realized I had basically made that little detail almost invisible. If the "footwear" was less black and glossy, you could actually see inside the empty area of the foot. But oh well... I'll just use the same idea again at some point. :p

I see what you mean, but on her left leg you can see that empty area the most... But in the end excellent work.
