So, yeah, I did a background. And someone said to me "trying surrealism for a change?" when seeing this, and I was confused. I was under the impression I was a surrealist artist 100% of the time. Admittedly, most of the time it's buried under all the horror and other freakishness. But I've always considered my art more of as "dark surreal" than horror.

But hey, just my opinion.

I agree with you.  I would consider most of your work to be surreal rather than horror if I had to choose just one category.

Thanks! Ha, take that D! Anyway, thank you for validating my opinion. That said, I think I am flattered that you have a collection called "The Weird" and each of my recent pieces is in there (I assume you're a "new'ish" to my art).

You're welcome.  I've actually got quite a few of your pieces in my horror collection, though I favorited many of them before I made "The Weird".  I never got around to moving some of them over, while some of the others are just too creepy to be moved.  There's definitely a lot of potential overlap between surrealism and horror.

Oh yeah, definitely. I actually started doing what I call "horror" art only after I got fed up with people saying of my art that "they're all so dark". So I went like a proper teenager (well, aside from the fact that I wasn't a teenager any longer) and said "Well, you want dark, okay, I'll show what dark is."

I think the official (as far my opinion is considered) piece of art that I did as a "horror artist" was "Thoughts". It was around that time, anyway that I basically just decided "fuck it" and went to town with tentacles and other assorted "horror". Early 2012 or late 2011 basically is the turning point in the direction of my art. Whereas my first stroke is the turning point where I put a lot more effort in to art.
