Been debating entering the photo contest. It's been a while since I've done any 'real' photography, so thought I'd do a bit of practice first.
So, a little explanation:
Thomas - I worked at Build a Bear for 4 years, about 7 years ago. Whilst there I amassed something close to 200 bears from across the world as well as our own store but, through various situations, I found myself with zero and I missed them. So when the husband and I stayed with my sister just before Christmas, I was determined to get a new bear. I was surprised by how much the store had changed (I went to the one I used to work at) - they had a complete new layout/setup. I hadn't intended on getting a Licenced bear because it had saddened me how many Licenced bears had invaded, there used to be some really cute BABW bears/animals, but when I'd left the company had been in trouble & I guessed the Licenced bears were it's saving grace. That being said, when I saw the Thomas bear, I had to get it. Thomas was my childhood, LOL.
Tatty Teddy - My husband bought me the Tatty Teddy keyring as a surprise. It was a spur of the moment thing (something he doesn't do very often) & he'd managed to buy it whilst I was in the same shop without my knowing. He knew that I loved Tatty Teddy's (again something I no longer have any of, apart from him) and I collect keyrings, so extra special. For the photo, he's also wearing my wedding ring as I thought it appropriate.
Aippaq - So Aippaq is the key Lore figure over at the Tokotas group. I have been a member over there for almost six years and an admin for 3 on my Tokota account. Whilst not my first ARPG, it very quickly became my favourite and I love it and the people there, both admins and members alike, and have made some amazing friendships because of it.
Books - I go through phases of reading a lot & not reading much. At the moment, I'm in a 'not much' phase. The books here; one is a research book for my novel. This one, Running with the Krays, is about London's most notorious gangsters from the 1960s - two of my characters in the novel are loosely based on the twins. The second book; Adam, is one of my favourites by my favourite author, Ted Dekker. Ted has over 35 novels to his name in varying genres (I highly recommend the Circle Series - fantasy) & is an incredible story teller. I have also been fortunate to study his writing course and it's been fantastic The Creative Way & I say that, not just coz he's my favourite, but he teaches things other courses don't.
Sketchpad, pens & pencils - Whilst I consider myself a writer first & foremost, I do like to draw, a lot. Most of what I draw is either Tokotas related or other ARPGs but I do like to draw my characters from my books from time to time. Whilst I'm not the best at it, it does help me visualize them & gives me less chance at continuity errors with their descriptions.
Notebook & Pens - No writer is complete without them, LOL. Seriously, I have a ton of both (the collection has grown, even since here - Tools of the Trade - updated )
There is one element missing from this image that I forgot to include, but I won't mention it as I may add it later
