My cat passed away. RIP Roxxie.
Hey all, sad news. My cat, Roxxie, unfortunately had to be put down today. She was ~20 years old, so I can (somewhat) happily say she led a good, long life. Between arthritis, diabetes, and other painful health issues, it was decided that it would be in her best interests to end her suffering and help her peacefully pass away.
I gave her one last goodbye kiss on the head as they injected her, and continued to pet her as she took her final breaths. I'm hoping that she found comfort and safety in knowing I was there for her as she drifted away.
I've known this day was coming for a while now. Her health and vitality had been deteriorating over the last few months, and at her most recent appointment, the Vet let me know it was probably time to say goodbye. I have been emotionally preparing myself for the last few weeks, and take solace in the fact that she at least got to have one last Christmas with us before she went.
As sad a day as this is, I've always thought the best way to honor a loved one is not to dwell on the way their story ended, but to fondly remember the good times you had with them.
In that vein, and in the spirit of remembering her as the playful, snarky little troublemaker she always was at heart, I'd like to ask you all to share any funny or memorable moments you've had with pets (your own or someone else's) in the comments.

Update
First off, I'm fine, in case any of you were still worried. I'm getting help and moved closer to my family, which has made a lot of difference, and I'm in a much better place mentally.
Secondly, I will be posting stuff again soon - right now I'm working on some Amber & Haley stuff and trying to find inspiration for something with Natalie & Baron (I'm not exactly open to requests right now, what with Summer school and looking for a job, but if you have any suggestions I might take them into consideration). I won't be posting as often as I used to, but I do still plan to be doing this for a while.
I'm also exploring other mediums - I'm considering taking up sculpture and/or metalworking, add a little variety to my artistic endeavors.
Other than that, I'll still be reading comments and checking my messages, but don't expect a response. On top of being busy, one big change I'm making in my life is to spend less time staring at a screen and more time going out and socializing.

I couldn't go through with it.
For whatever reason, the pills didn't work, and no matter how hard I tried the knife refused to cut deep enough. So, I'm alive, but feeling very ill and my neck is now quite a bit sore.
Anyways, I still won't be posting anything for a while I get help and try to get my life sorted out.
Oh, and for anyone else considering making the same mistake I almost did: trust me, it stops seeming like a good idea pretty damn quick.
