This is an indication as to how I do my ink works. I first (1st) draw my lay out on bleed proof paper (means the ink does not bleed into the paper, in remains flat) with a 5B pencil, so if I have to rub out any excess pencil, I can because of how light the pencil grade is. Then, with black indian ink & water, I do my background & sky tones with a paint brush. Usually I let it dry for about an hour after using water to lighten certain tones for the areas required.
