Ready to create a character for the group? Here’s a guide that will run you through how to make one!

The Visual Application

This is the visual application! Simply fill in all of the fields to complete this part of the process.

General

We have an application for high-school students, and an application for college students. Please pick the right one for the type of student you are making! You are free to make either.

The Middle

This is where you draw a fullbody and fully coloured image of your character. Make sure they are in full school uniform! You can view the school uniform here

The Right-Side

Name:Your character’s full name. Middle names are not required here but can be added if you wish

Birthday: The date on which your character was born. You can also put their age here, but that is also optional.

Gender: Self-explanatory, male, female, or whatever else in between.

Height and Weight: The height of your character and their weight. cm or ft, lbs, or kg.

Species: Which Pokemon are they? You can also include the dex number if you wish.

Ability: Your character’s ability! Please keep this cannon to what abilities their species can have.

Nature / Characteristic: Your Pokemon's nature and characteristic. You can find a list of natures Here and a list of characteristics Here. Please stick to cannon natures and characteristics.

Colour Palette: The colours that your character has on them! Quick splotches can be put here for reference purposes

The Left-Side

Headshot: Put a headshot image of your character here! Can be used to display different emotions, angles of the face, anything that might be hidden, etc. You are allowed to just use your full body image of your character here if you do not wish to draw them up again.

Grade / Year: Year for college students, Grade for high-school students. The year for your college student is determined by how long they have been studying their subject!

Stamp: A small indicator of whether your character is a high-school student or a college student!

Stats: Used to determine the stats of your character! You can have a total of 18 STARS colored in. You are allowed to do less than 18 if you wish, but not over.
If using the older version of the application, the maximum amount of starts is 15

The Written Application

Please fill out this information in the artist’s description! You are free to add more information if you wish, but all the information listed below MUST be included.

Name: Your character’s FULL name. Minimum requirement is first and surname.
Age: How old is your character currently?
Birthday: The date on which your character was born.
Gender: Self-explanatory, male, female, or whatever else in between.
Species: Which pokemon are they? Please specify if shiny.
Ability: Your character’s ability! Please keep this cannon to what abilities their species can have.
Nature / Characteristic: Your pokemon’s nature and characteristic. You can find a list of natures Here and a list of characteristics Here. Only cannon natures and characteristics please!
Height: How tall is your character? In either cm / ft
Weight: How heavy is your character? In either lbs / kg

Hometown: Where is your character from? Please stay under Pokémon cannon, it can be in game location, anime, movie, etc. Once again we suggest Bulbapedia or Serebii.net and we do prefer in-game locations.

Personality: Your character's personality. Please explain this in detail! You might want to list of traits, or just go for it – but please make sure that you put a substantial amount of effort into this section. When judging, we will look for contradictions that don't add up, and the general feel we get from reading their personality. Try to make traits work in conjunction with each-other and balance as much as you can! You can have a more positive or more negatively weighted character, just try to include a bit of both. A lot of judging will be focused here so pay extra attention to contradicting traits and / or things that don't add up!

History: Talk about your character's life until they found about the Academy. We would like to see stuff about their past school experiences, their relationship with peers and guardian figures, and most importantly, why they decided to join Desta College / St.Mortiel. Please try to include a good amount of information here! Doesn't have to be too long, but we want to see where your character came from. Talk about them and how they developed as a person throughout the years.

Level: Please try to keep this accurate to your character! Age and experiences will play a major role in determining their level. You will be able to increase level later on if you wish through other means. The cap for St.Mortiel students when joining is level 50, and Desta's cap is 65. Please be cautious about level. If it is higher, we will be looking for some kind of explanation as to why in your application (history, notes, etc).

Evolution Level(s): Only required for evolved characters! List the levels that your character evolved at and what they evolved into.

Level-Up Moves: A list of all the current moves your pokemon knows!
The level-up moves that your character knows will depend on when they evolved and what pokemon they are, we recommend that you check bulbapedia or serebii for a comprehensive list. For characters that don’t / haven’t evolved, simply list all the moves that your character learns up until the level that they are currently at, yes, this includes level 1 moves.

For evolved characters, moves will work similarly to how they would in-game. Your character’s moves will depend on which level they evolve at. For Bulbasaur, for example, if they evolved into Ivysaur at level 16, and then Venusaur at 32, their move list would consist of Bulbasaur’s moves from level 1-16, Ivysaur’s from level 16-32, and Venusaur’s from level 32 to their current level.

TMs/HMs/Egg Moves/Tutor Moves : You can have up to 4 of these upon joining! Be extra critical with egg moves as they cannot be taught later on and you will only be allowed to have ONE! Egg moves must be transferred down from parents one way or another. You may be able to earn extras of these moves later on and / or through events.

Please also explain where they got their TMs from somewhere within their application too!

Grade / Year: The grade or year your character is in!

Classes: You can find all you need to know about classes Here. Please list the build you are using for high-school students, OR the majors and minors for college students

Extra Curricular Activities: You can find and select Clubs/Sport Teams here (check the clubs tab). A maximum of THREE is allowed! If you can’t decide just yet, you can always leave a comment Here to enlist your student later on.

Notes / Fun facts: Any other nifty facts or tidbits you’d like to mention about your character!

Creating a Character

General Rules

• This is an anthro pokemon group, not a gijinka group! Please make sure characters do not look too human-like.
• Naga, Taur, and other body type pokemon are allowed as long as their species corresponds to this trait in some way.
• Shiny, Pinkan, Albino and Melanistic characters are allowed!
• You have some freedom with colour variation (having duller or slightly more vibrant / shifted colours is fine), but it can’t be too extreme.
• Any medical conditions must be researched. This includes both physical and mental.
• We don’t allow special fusions or crossbreed pokemon, although genetic variation is allowed. (Eg. A Pikachu having more woolly fur because of Mareep parent. Still must visibly be a pikachu)

Having More Characters

• You will have two free character slots to begin with, which means after you join, you are free to send in a second character as soon as you wish without any cost!
• After your second character, you will then have a character cooldown applied which will last two months. This will happen for every consecutive character you introduce! This means that you will need to wait 2 more months before sending in your next character
  If you are not feeling a character, you are free to swap them out with another character whenever you please!
• You can only send in one character for a review at a time, but once they have been accepted, you are free to send in your next! (if it is possible for you to do so)
