Ahoy there mates! This is yer lovely pink captain speaking, myself and Mattsma brought up a discussion through Facebook that spilled slightly over into deviantARrrrrT land. Apparently the existing cross-stitching groups via Facebook aren't full of the nicest people, and this is most unacceptable. Being the great community we are, we've set up a quick Facebook page for ye all, with our own SpitfireFae as the admin of it. SpitfireFae is not joining the contest running circle and will still be fully allowed to compete for prizes.Ye can view the page here, where ye aren't required to speak piratey if ye don't want to: www.facebook.com/groups/stitch…
Joining the Facebook group is as simple as pressing the button. Ye'll need to confirm who ye are here first before ye'll be accepted in though. Ye can post here in this journal or, if ye prefer yer privacy on Facebook, ye can always send the group here on deviantART a note. This is just a level of security for the group to reduce random spam and other non-stitchingpirates-related posting.

A few guidelines for ye mates:
Many pirates prefer to use Facebook for their private family and friends and may not like it if ye go about willy-nilly asking everyone in the group to add ye. Please use yer good judgement. I expect the same guidelines ye follow here to be followed there. I've never had an incident here on dA where people wanted to get into swearing matches, but Facebook tends to bring out a different side in people that doesn't always include polite artistry! In other words, if ye have personal gruff with someone, take it out of the group, if ye'd please. If things get roudy I will not hesitate to remove ye. If yer like me ye don't like stuffing yer gallery up with WIP photos, even if ye are contributing to Magical525's get it done project! The Facebook group is a perfect place for WIP/UFO discussion, tips, pointers, and other such things.Think of opening the Facebook group as a way for us all to join a chatroom together instead of reading over comments to see if someone has already asked the same question. The main events and announcements will still all happen here on deviantART but the Facebook group will allow us another opportunity to make other stitching piratey friends! Not joining the group will not exclude ye from any goodies. It is only an extra area for communication.
