Group Info

In the old days there was nothing and often solo Cross Stitchers wandered for months wondering if they were the only ones of deviantART that stitched. Then one day the founders met each other and from there it seemed Stitchers were popping up all over the place and they thought, wouldn't it be wonderful if there was a community? So, from that thought, Stitching Pirates was born and we look forward to providing you with the best community possible. Don't be afraid to ask questions, provide feedback! Without the people a community just wouldn't be what it is.


Why Stitching Pirates?

The name Stitching Pirates grew from the key pirate concepts that X always marks the spot and maps lead to something wonderful. The same applies to Cross Stitch and plus pirates are just awesome. Yargh!

    Welcome to Stitching Pirates the Cross Stitching Juggernaut. Aims & How to join + Submission Guidelines + Advertisements & Links + Facebook Group The Cross Stitch subreddit is starting to get together a large project for many, many stitchers to take part in! Reddit recently hosted a community-wide project for people to collaborate on a giant pixel board - a perfect opportunity for us grid-based embroidery artists to create a physical version. It's still in the planning stages right now, but the general idea is that it'll be broken up into sections and then combined at a future date for charity. I just wanted to stop in and congratulate us on all of our wonderful stitching crew mates! :D It isn't often that a group on DeviantArt with such a narrow focus can achieve such numbers, usually groups with 1,000+ members are the catch all art groups with broad subjects.     I was wondering if anyone could recommend a cross stitch creation software, please? 
    I'm using Pic2Pat, but it doesn't convert skin colours very well.

    Hi there!
    I just wanted to share this challenge on here. It's called Fiberartuary, where you are given prompts and you make something related to that prompt using 'fiber-based arts', such a knitting, crochet, sewing, cross stitch, embroidery etc (think of it like Inktober but for Fiber arts lol).

    Hi it’s me again I just have a little question I have a few cross stitch patterns that I randomly found online usually on Pinterest or google images when I try to find the original maker it usually leads to a dead end especially the hogwarts house crest I can’t even find that one online anymore. Can I share the patterns here or would that not be ok I don’t want to make anyone angry or think I’m trying to take credit for their work :worry:
