is it controversial to say i think dA is still one of the best site for artists... i hate all the short form stuff other websites have. this is the only place where i can really yap in full detail, i feel like other websites just promote art and not actually the artists, does that make sense??? like art is seen more like content on other websites, just like a post, scroll, repeat and call it a day. its never felt like that here.
the fact that people can speak their mind as much as they want as long as they want and not really worry about a mysterious algorithm or being silenced and stuff is a blessing. not to mention word limits have genuinely ruined every other website for me. obviously its not profitable for them to have people READ with their EYES.
but thats because those different websites are typically social media, not really meant FOR artists in the same way dA is.
of course i hate all the horrible stuff dA is doing, especially the AI bullshit, but when i look at what artists have to deal with on other websites im not envious lol. i just hope dA doesnt end up nuking itself doing something irreparably stupid because i would reaaaaally hate to move to another platform bc i cant do what i do here anywhere else 😭maybe tumblr??? but idk
