alright....this time we talkin about Saffron and Coco's kiddos: Mallow and Tropilou. Tropilou is born when Mallow is about 6 or something i dont remember how to do math sorry ASDFJKL
1. The wives do a lot of moving in their lifetime. The restaurant isn't doing too well in Canterlot, Coco constantly had to travel to go to theatre shows, as well as having two kids... They finally decided that they wanted to settle in Manehatten to make things easier for everyone. Masala could carry her restaurant over there to a larger more diverse audience, and Coco could do work. The only one who wasn't happy....well, was Mallow. Yes, he had friends here, but they had to do what had to be done. Plus, Masala didn't think elitist unicorn society was really the best place to spend his formative years anyway. Coco couldn't help but agree.
Manehatten was great! The restaurant was great, Coco and Masala actually lived in the same house for more than a week at a time, and the kids were doing fine. Well...except Tropilou. She was having issues, and there weren't any doctors who knew what was up. The family would often have to traverse the country every couple of months when they got enough money to try and find a doctor to help her, but they couldn't find anyone for years... until Ponyville. Doctor Horse seemed to know what was up. They were so fearful for Tropilou's life that they decided that it was best if they just moved there. Teenage Mallow was absolutely pissed. He cursed, yelled, broke things. He had finally gotten some long term friends here, maybe a girl or two, perhaps caught up a bit in the gang scene. This was all Tropilou's fault, after all. If she wasn't so weak, they wouldn't have this problem. He wasn't going to leave.
"Then fucking stay here," Masala would snap and slam his bedroom door. It was a very tense night with Coco crying and lots of yelling and Tropilou being scared. But they would decide to move to Ponyville without him. Masala convinced Coco "if he want to act like a man, let him be. Let him get a job, pay rent, struggle and do what we do every day for him. When he want to realize the error of his ways, he can come back."
2. Up until the whole...situation explained before, Mallow had always been a good supportive brother for Tropilou. She loved playing games with him, and after a spell he was always there to help. Until he got older, a little more distant, more busy. He grew, and he grew fast (mostly physically.)
3. Tropilou's condition consists of seizures and migraines that strike seemingly at random. She's rendered weak, and usually faints during an episode (if she's lucky.) As a toddler, they thought maybe she was just getting tired easily or didn't like loud noises, but during one of her worst episodes they rushed her to a hospital to find she was having a terrible seizure and wouldn't even wake up until the next day. When they lived in Manehatten, they decided that homeschooling her wasn't an option. They were simply too busy, so they sent her to school with a helmet and told her teachers what was up. If she ever had a seizure at school, whichever mom was the least busy would come pick her up. It was stressful, not knowing what was happening to their daughter, and doctors not being able to locate any mishaps in the brain or tumors of any kind. Tropilou herself felt terrible for worrying her mothers so much.
4. Coco largely blames herself for Tropilou's condition. She thinks because her pregnancy was so rough, because she wasn't strong enough.... maybe she wasn't even meant to be a mother? Maybe she should've listened to the doctors that said she wouldn't be able to make it, then their daughter wouldn't be this way...it was all her fault, all of it, all of it...
