Tempest Shadow
Female
Lesbian
Tempest, after being one upped by a bear and feeling cast out and alone without a horn, spent her days traveling in darkness and solitude, learning nothing but bitterness and rage, yet a yearning to be like others once again so she could go back to the easy times. The fun times....but all of that was pushed deep under so she could focus on building an impenetrable wall of sheer cold that wouldn't let anyone or anything in. Even if kind ponies in other towns offered little ol' her a place to stay, she often stole their valuables and fled by the next morning. It was this way that she got her name, and also partially became a myth. "The Tempest Shadow which will tear a town to shreds, coming in the form of innocence but leaving behind a path of destruction." She thought this name was awesome and kept it, obviously.

After the events of the movie with Tempest, she didn't go straight to telling the Storm King's defeat like she said. After all, that wasn't her job--it was an official thing that Celestia could handle. But seeing her technique, her skills and all...the three Queens couldn't help but offer her a job as a military officer, lest another unprecedented threat show up. Tempest happily agreed, but while she was well versed in the ways of combat, being well versed in the ways of society and social norms was something else. She had been alone since she was a filly, raised by bears and thieving and such. She had a lot to learn about how to be....well, socially adept. This is where the Queens, Twilight, and eventually, Spitfire would come in.

YEAH HOWDY spitfire's backstory has been completely redone, you can check it out here: www.deviantart.com/mylittlegam…

RETCONNED: In her teen years, Spitfire struggled with what her purpose was and wanting to disappear. She had chronic depression, which left her friendless and angry towards anyone who tried to talk to her. This was patrially caused by her mother's illness and her inability to help, and seeing her father work day and night to support both her and her mother. She felt like a burden to them, a waste of money...and so she took it out on others who could be oh-so happy while her own mother was suffering. Others didn't know the pain like she did...right?

Then the time where Dad's money wasn't enough, and Spitfire's partime job after high school didn't help either. Mother's condition turned for the worse, and....Spitfire felt like it was her fault. She couldn't face it, she couldn't be there. She was already going to head into the military, but this solidified it. She left without a word to them, and hoped maybe she would either die on a mission or survive long enough for them to get the benefits of having a veteran child. But while she was there, the grueling training, the affirmations, the everything... she changed for the better.

She went back home years later, pushing off the fated day of confrontation...but, shockingly, she came back to a happy family. Her mother was in stable condition, and so was her father, and....she even had a little brother now. Spitfire was relieved, but felt horrible for missing out, horrible for abandoning her parents in their time of need and with the intention to go off and die. Her parents, although iffy with her return, after a long conversation of tears and turmoil, came to an understanding. It had been a lot for a kid like her to handle back then, and they were proud of her for doing what she could. She would soon retire from the military and try for the Wonderbolts to put what she had learned into entertaining others and trying to pull out the best of herself without putting her life in danger. And also so her parents get prime seats by default where they could see her in all her glory. Good times.

Spitfire and Tempest Shadow
They met briefly after the whole fireworks and Wonderbolts display, and Spitfire recommended that she put on more shows with them since her magic was so cool looking. Tempest, a bit nervous and unsure at the request, replied with a threatening, "Perhaps another time, mortal. I hope you survive until then." Spitfire raised an eyebrow and walked off, and Tempest facehooved herself half to death until Twilight suggested "yeahhhh let's get you all friendshipped up." In a few months time, Tempest would be being shown around many places by the Mane Six, and eventually Rainbow would invite her to see a Wonderbolts show. After being in awe with the maneuvers and skills (not used for violence???) that the Wonderbolts displayed, she immediately had to talk to Spitfire once more. They had a nice long chat where they discovered they both had been experience in the field and the best way to put someone in a chokehold, as well as how they had been friendless and aggressive in childhood... Unfortunately, both had schedules and had to go their separate ways, but remained in contact frequently. Tempest went to the shows, Spitfire went to ceremonies and marches. Tempest did fireworks here and there, Spitfire would volunteer to test out "Tempest's little pansies." This would blossom into visits outside of scheduled events and nose nuzzles before leaving, and eventually....stupidly thinking about one another and blaming the other for this baby-softie-gummy feeling that distracted them....the feeling called love.

They instantly agreed "yup that checks out" and had a massive explosive wedding with all their military buddies and fireworks galore.
