alright here’s some unfinished sketches from last year that i colored! ill have to dig through my files for some more but here we go for now

they were supposed to go with the other family dynamic posts but didnt make the cut, i still like them though lol

Sour Note and Parrot Pebbles

You may be thinking. Who is Sour Note? Valid question! I have never drawn them before. LMAO Nor have I ever mentioned them! Or implied their existence. Maybe like, once somewhere… originally an adopt I got from @Glorymoon and made some slight design adjustments. He is the twin of Gumdrop Bubblepop, who I also never ever talk about. The Pinkie family is very not… talked about. LOL But here I am to change that.

Sour Note’s mother and father are Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich, and Pinkie is the sister of Parrot’s mother Limestone Pie, who is married to Fluttershy. This makes Sour and Parrot cousins! (I think.)

Sour Note is a member in Shenanigan’s band, “The Neigh Sayers vs. The Herd Mentality”, which also features Piercing Cry and Dingo (formerly). Parrot shows up to their mostly vacant shows sometimes whenever her moms want her to get out of the house, and finds herself flustered and overwhelmed by their performances. They’re just so fucking COOL. But usually she quickly shuffles away after each performance to avoid being noticed.

Obviously, Parrot Pebbles cannot go unnoticed for long, as she is Sour Note’s cousin, so they occasionally run into each other anyway. Sour Note is very queer and comfortable with himself, going by he/they despite being prominently femme presenting, and is a lesbian to boot. He’s an adult unlike the teenage Parrot pictured here, and has always been this distant mysterious awesome queer figure in her life. But she never had the social skills to really have a conversation with him about it, much less at the various family get-togethers over the years.

Parrot is not very confident in herself, not her body, not her mind, not much of anything. At this age, she’s not exactly well versed in queer culture, and doesn’t have many (if any) friends or figures to educate/talk to her about queer culture or what the hell a he/him lesbian is, but Parrot just thinks Sour Note is so fucking incredible and she has no idea why. (That is gender envy, my friend.)

Like... Is it really possible? To be a… boy… girl… situation? Can she be a he while still looking like a girl? Or maybe she wants the opposite? Or maybe she just wants to be a he? No, that just can’t be… Sure, Parrot doesn’t mind being misgendered, maybe even enjoys it a little, but that’s a completely different thing. I mean, there's just no way Parrot can pull off what Sour is doing. She's always cutting her hair short, always wearing clothes that hide her body… Would it be weird to ask Sour how if that's normal for a girl? How did he figure it out? No no, she shouldn’t bother her cousin about this, especially not out of nowhere, he’ll probably think she’s weird…

(Sorry to say, but Sour already knows. Gender awakening is imminent. Parrot will end up going by any pronouns a few months down the line after Sour Note introduces her to his band, and when they ask her pronouns, she stammers "I-- I don't know" and it all goes down from there.)

Parrot Pebbles and Fondoodle

Now here’s a face we have LITEARLLY NEVER SEEN EVER. In fact, the last time we saw him, he had a completely different design. And here he is in all his glory, Party Favor and Cheese Sandwich lovechild, one of the younger ones in the cast, Fondoodle.

Here we see teenage Parrot Pebbles yet again shocked by the sheer artistic prowess of her cousins. Fondoodle is autistic and doesn’t talk very much, much preferring ESL (Equestrian Sign Language). Parrot herself dances on the spectrum (unknowingly) and has always found Fondoodle to be a quiet comfort in the midst of their extremely rambunctious family meetings.

They often bond by doing arts and crafts or he nods attentively while she infodumps about a manga she read recently… however she cannot help but recognize the sheer difference in their art skills. How can this 10 year old be this much better than her…? And he’s being so carefree about it-- did he even sketch that out???

(Obviously Fondoodle didn’t paint van Gogh's famous pieces in the horse world, but I imagine he would have a similar art style to these particular drawings.)

Oh Parry, you sweet autistic queer baby. Don’t worry, stick with Sour Note, he’ll help you with that gay glow up like a good cousin does.
