Doll Face 2.0

Here is Doll Face with a bit of a revamp! Her design stays largely the same, but her cutie mark is different. I figured her last one was, uh, very questionable in a way that lended itself to too many questions and assumptions about mortality and horses which would cause unnecessary confusion on a topic better explained in other ways. LOL So here we are!

She is one of (if not the first) pony in all of Equestria to have a tech based cutie mark like this! That tech being the television, which by the time the Gamiverse rolls around, has been invented and a large part of the up and coming society in Equestria. 

Before the TV, the go to entertainment was radios and projectors with film (either seen at a theater or bought if you were that fancy). However, during the time that most of the Gamiverse nextgens are growing up, the household television started to become more commonplace, opening a whole new world of entertainment. They are powered by both electricity and magic. 

(For reference, the most advanced type of television in the Gamiverse so far are CRT type TVs, which are also the most common. The most advanced ones have RCA plugs at best and the most advanced console would probably be a GameCube and PS2.)

Anyway, back to Doll Face, daughter of Dumbbell and Featherbangs, sister to Finesse! (ignore all of that old art... lol)

She was raised on a property beside Treehugger's family, which absolutely no one else wanted to own. (Dumbbell and Treehugger are both teachers at his gym and friends as a result.) She also is constantly in touch with her family in Ponyville. (With Cheese Sandwich being her uncle, frequent family reunions are a must.) Thanks to the kindness and family values portrayed around her she got a pretty progressive headstart, unlike most rich kids.

Her charismatic nature led her to get small roles for commercial jingles, modelling positions, theater gigs, and even being a local news reporter (it was just for the newspaper, but it’s fun to talk to people about literally anything, hearing their passions and daily going-ons…) Eventually she lands a role on the biggest up and coming entertainment network to draw in new viewers! (Thanks Featherbangs!) All walks of life are clamoring to get on air, especially celebrities, and she’s happy to interview them. 

While she can be materialistic at times, the fame never gets to her head, and she always puts others first. She’s a bit shocked to learn just how vapid and empty other celebrities are, and how they only regurgitate things that they’re told to say and don’t actually believe the things they’re saying. You mean to tell me everyone actually has alternative motives…? WHAT? Who else is lying? She’s genuinely shocked. She’s must know more!

Unfortunately, Doll Face’s out of left field and somewhat accusatory questions on air are seen as comedic and silly rather than actual criticisms of the ones sitting across from her. She’s seen as the “small town earth pony asks cityfolk about things she doesn’t understand” archetype by most viewers, which is simply not true. She just decides to use this interpretation to her advantage for now, to gauge her enemies and allies in the plutocratic battlefield to gather intel for a better, fairer future. Surely she can find some allies among these ponies? Man, this sucks, she just wanted to talk to other ponies about their lives, not be a sheep among wolves…

thought i would clean up and color this sketch i had of Doll Face in my files in between work and yup it paid off LOL. here's her old reference for anyone curious! i will update her toyhouse maybe tomorrow. as we all know i constantly and reliably update my toyhouse ahahaha... (i dont)
