Nice job on the color choices. They work really well. Dark without being too dark, and a nice purple without being garish, which would ...

Finally did some artwork. Took me too long to get here.
So I have recently gotten into tabletop roleplaying again, after way too long. It's D&D 5e, and my character is an aarakocra ranger. People new to D&D may be wondering why my little guy (5' tall, 95 lbs) doesn't have a third pair of limbs (like an angel, or hawkman). That's because I think they suck. They can't fly without magic, as there isn't any room for muscle attachment points, and their aerodynamics suck. In addition, having human arms would drastically change their thought processes and culture, and make them just humans with wings grafted on. So I went with the original aarakocra, as seen in editions 1-4 (well, probably 2-4, really, since the Fiend Folio, where they first appeared, was 2nd ed AD&D...I think).

Iceglint Broadwing
Iceglint Broadwing, Aarakocra ranger. I am not a fan of the new D&D 5e "hawkman" version. The original version is much, much better, and I suspect that they made them humanoids with wings grafted on to their backs to make it easier to make minifigures for them.

Okay, then. Xerox is being Xerox, and looking at only short-term costs and solutions, instead of long term solutions. So, I am unemployed again, because my box on the accountant's worksheet had too big of a number in it, and it wasn't obvious that I saved money in other boxes. This is a slight oversimplification, and one they would probably dispute, but it is nevertheless basically true. But it's timing isn't too bad, all considered. We are moving into a new house, so I am taking my time off and packing/unpacking stuff from boxes. Soon I will be looking for work in earnest, but for now, I haven't really tried to find a new job. But I am putting out a few feelers to some recruiters, so I haven't been completely lazy on the job front! Plus, I figured it's a good time to start producing more artwork; I haven't done that in over a year, so I have obviously been remiss in that department.

I grew up in San Jose, CA, at the southern end of the San Francisco Bay Area. I got tired of the dry, and moved up to Portland, OR, where it's green and moist. I like temperate rain forests, so it's a good fit. I like the motto "Keep Portland Weird", too, although it isn't nearly as weird as that motto implies. I have a degree in Business Economics, with a side order of Mechanical Engineering, and Graphic Design for dessert, although I never finished all of the curriculum because I started my own business, and just didn't have the time. (There were two of us doing the whole suite of user guides for a medical laser company's entire product line.)

Up until recently, I was a technical illustrator in my day job. Now I am between jobs, and will probably end up doing something more graphic designerly. With most manufacturing happening in the Asian countries, there isn't a lot of technical writing/illustration required (one of the casualties of the United States' new "service economy"). :-/

Still, technical illustration is my favorite, whether its working from exported CAD files, or phototracing, or just holding the part in one hand while drawing it in the other!

Looking back at your Epona stuff, do you think the models could receive a reboot of sorts

Since the Epona project was worked on during 1994 to about 2000, I would say "yes"! Gert van Dijk did an upgraded version of the Springcroc, using ZBrush. It was awesome, and made the model I had created look like crap. See: planetfuraha.blogspot.com/sear…

If only the project were restarted, with modern tools....And, of course, I had the time to do it, like I had in my 20's.
