It's ok, this magnificent specimen was released back to the lagoon where she came from.

You have no idea the disappointment I feel knowing I can never win this at a fair, all I'd get is a goldfish.

On the other hand, it's really pretty. The iridescence on her body and face - which is different from that of her scales and tail - is very nice, and I think it really works, especially because the difference is between scales & smooth skin. The bag looks super realistic o.o like woah, I can imagine it being something I WOULD see at a fair as a prize, ahha. It's all very cool...though I have to say, she loooks a little intimidating!! I feel like she's glaring at me from the bag, trying to reach me :'( all I know is, there's a reason I don't swim in any water but pool water. Salt and fresh water harbors all kinds of scary things! EVEN REALLY CUTE ONES CAUSE LOOK AT HER EYES *aieieeeeee! flees*

Oh, it is good that you aren't talking about her catch and release site. Now all you have to do is make sure you aren't followed on any other casual strolls for reference materials or sites. She and her folk are much to lovely and intriguing to turn up in the endangered species trade. This is an excellent painting, and a great idea.

The directions are only kept in my head, which is safe as I even get lost in there :eyepopping:

Is this digital art? Seems too flawless to be traditional art. :)

It was defiantly a compliment. I don't do any digital art but I wish I could get that type of smoothness in my pieces.

Thank you, that's kind of you.
(If you look at the highlights of the bag, it isn't that smoothly done)

If any help, to get this look traditionally, I'd use acrylics on a 16 x 20 smooth board (painted grey), underpainting figure first in B&W then glazing colour over when dry, then adding plastic bag highlights the next day :)
