Depth of Field Tips for Flower Photography
Animals, Plants, & Nature Week Poppies in the Blue Daily Deviation 7/8/2015 Hello! My name is Ruth, though I am commonly known as kayaksailor (https://www.deviantart.com/kayaksailor) on DeviantArt. I have been a photographer for most of my life, adding up to more than a half century of taking photos!  I made the official switch from film to digital in May 2007 (about the same time as I joined DA) after getting my first dSLR, a Nikon D100, at a yard sale. As I am rather fond of flower gardens and the accompanying insects, those are my primary subjects and will be my examples for this article. Personal taste will dictate your scenes! Today's article will discuss some Depth of Fi

The Neglected Importance of the Online Community
What is the Worldwide Online Community? The Worldwide Online Community is simply a group of people from a wide variety of countries and continents who come together to share their skills, experience, and/or love for a subject. Online communities are a fairly new faction and are not fully understood, their importance is neglected and may not reach their full potential until the next generation incorporates them more and more. It wasn't until the '90s that the Internet or World Wide Web really became a part of the culture, but in less then 20 years its impact has changed society from top to bottom. In order to really delve into the importance

Probably the most famous road race (cycling) is just on it's way - the Tour de France is in its second week and the media has again been full of it - sometimes with the day's victories, but also with the downfalls of the sport - doping.

Now as some of you who know me, probably also know I am quite into cycling myself - I just finished a 24h Team-Race and now I am training for a 24h Solo-Race in september - I decided to take a look at dA and see what photos can be found in regard to cycling. And yeah, I found some very good works and pieces which I would like to share with you.

and just one last thing (for those who think that cycling=doping): forget the pros, but don't forget the sports

It sure is an amazing display of athletic performance. The distances they ride each day is simply amazing.

But watching the TV coverage really makes me want to photograph the Alps. Coming from a relatively flat country (Australia) the Alps look simply astonishing. It'll have to go on my wishlist for now though.

naja, meines ist ja nicht direkt von mir

und richtig gute Radlerfotos hier auf dA zu finden ist nicht so leicht - die sind fast auf 3-4 Fotografen beschränkt....
