Description

This Emote has a much more serious tone to it than most of my other ones, and was inspired by one of today's Daily Deviations.
Alzheimers, in my opinion, is one of the more difficult illnesses to cope with. Someone very close to me has suffered from it for a few years now, and it really is one of the most painful things to see happen to someone so dearly loved.

For those of you who are unaware of the illness, it is essentially when the brain starts to deteriorate, and you forget a lot of things - family and friends included. It starts off in milder stages, you forget what you went upstairs for, or you forget you were making toast, but it then goes on to much more serious issues like forgetting family and friends, or even forgetting where you are.

In this Emoticon the green emote (who has the illness) starts off recognising the red emote, they hug and are generally happy with one another's company. As the animation progresses, the red emote visits again, only this time the green emote is struggling to remember who it actually is.

The red emote then fades out of the animation - and also out of the green emote's memory.

Feel free to critique and leave feedback, this is the first time doing a real animation in a little while, so no doubt some parts are very rusty.

Thanks for reading, and take care. :)

I have no idea if this belongs in the new categories or not, so I'm keeping it in misc for now.

As a child I grew up with my grandmother always by my side. We'd spend weekends with her and help around her house... she it wasn't until the last five years that her alzheimers really hit me. She was calling me my aunt's name, bringing up memories of my aunt instead of me and her in the art studio. At frst I thought it was funny, but recently I asked her if she knew who I was, and knew she was no longer there once she replied 'No'. This icon reminds me of that bond, how much i loved her and how we once got along, and how she had forgotten the people most important in her life. This is conveyed in almost a cutesy yet sad way, I really enjoy it.
