Eeep, I've been meaning to comment on this amazing piece since I first saw it while I was painting my Each Uisge! It really inspired me to try a different perspective, thankyou for that
I love how you manage to get the darks in your paintings so dark. No matter how I try mine always end up super happy-colourful. I need to learn your talents! *cue obsessive staring at every detail* I especially love his nightmarish hand that's mostly hidden under the water - it took me a couple of looks to see it, and then it give me a start. It really changes the whole sense of the painting. I also like the way you've done the contrast between the water and his shirt and the wet shadows on it. And his oh-so-innocent face - sneaking nokken!
