Some clarification

Seems I've confused a few people, what with my pesky captions and all, so just a reminder - I am a photographer. I am also a costumer. I state in the caption of each image whether I took the photo, made the costume, wore the costume, etc. I'm not a cosplay model - if I am wearing a costume, I made it :)

Hi, awesome work you have done. Nice job with the cosplay book. Great to see people making the effort in NZ.
I'm a hobbyist photographer based in Wellington & Auckland.
I'm really interested in cosplay photography. Could you point me in any directions for collaborating with NZ cosplayers?

Hi Dylan! Thanks I'd check out the CNZ facebook group and introduce yourself there. A lot of photographers post and make a general inquiry about shoots and who's interested, with mixed results, but I'd recommend asking individuals directly as well. A lot of the time people seem respond well to a general call but not actually follow through, I think just because most of us are super disorganised! You'll have more luck asking people directly 
There are quite a lot of cosplayers in Welly, and HEAPS in Aucks, so start with the fb group and check out the cosplay new zealand tag on tumblr as well. I spam that tag a lot though, so apologies in advance...you might have to do some sifting through all my crap! But yeah, basically just ask people 
Just a heads up though, cosplayers are usually NOT models, and very frequently need a lot of direction. Bear that in mind, or you might end up pretty frustrated (I don't know what you're used to - ignore if not applicable).
