Description
Small bird-like creatures usually found flocking on hogshorne backs. Highly social. They keep hogshornes free of parasites, and their spit has healing and anti-bacterial factors when combined with hogshorne blood, and serve as an alarm system to the hogs. In return they receive food, protection, and nesting grounds and materials.
They are highly sensitive to pheromones omitted by the hogs, and once they have selected a hog to live on, allow that hog to "command" them through those pheromones.
There are generally about 10 Hogfliers to 1 hogshorne, but these ratios can differ depending on food availability, the size of the hogshorne.

Hogfliers generall only have one egg at a time, which is held within the body for as long as possible to protect it from the intense terrain and highly mobile living situation. Once laid it hatches within 48 hours and the newborn clings to the belly feathers of one of the adults in the flock.
