This guide assumes you extracted and loaded a model into Blender, and you have a face-fixing smd at hand.

___________________________________________________________________

1. Import the model with the ugly unfixed head to Blender.

2. Select skeleton of the model, then go to Import> smd and choose the fixing pose/skeleton for the model.

3. Press the small button marked red here, it skips to the second frame of the animation (which is the fixing pose). Alternatively you can use the left/right arrow keys on your keyboard to change frame.
Watch the ugly face turn pretty:

4. Select the head mesh and apply its Armature modifiers. This will bake the pose onto the mesh. Repeat for all other head parts (Eyes, Mouth inners, eventually hair).
If you don't do this the meshes will reset to the ugly versions when you change rest pose.

5. Go into Pose Mode on the skeleton, select all bones and press CTRL+A, apply rest pose. This will make the current pose the bind pose.

6. To make meshes move with the armature again simply select the meshes and press CTRL+P, Armature Deform.

7. Now you have a fully fixed head!

This is currently the end of these tutorials. Great work if you got here! \(^_^)/
