Special Ability: All Stygian are in human avatar form by default, even if they have not selected it, but in return, animal forms do not work in this realm.
The Crucible of Chaos is as torn between its identities as its creator: part city, part ruins, part void.
Its main hub is a neon cityscape against a dark backdrop, with buildings that warp and shift with no rhyme or reason. At its center sits a lavish hotel and casino with endless corridors, rows of slots and poker tables, and a labyrinth of rooms of utter opulence and variety. This is where Chaos resides, with rooms for each member of his court.

The city itself is a self-sufficient environment full of restaurants, clubs, museums, libraries and stores. They are all devoid of staff but are somehow fully functional. It still has all of the thrum and sound of a bustling citscape despite its emptiness.
In many places, Chaos' age and arcane knowledge shines through, as mysterious things can be found in all places: glitched out and distorted areas, lingering shadows with eyes, mysterious artifacts from different times and worlds...
Of course, this changes once you leave the city. The buildings slide out of focus and become dark forests and twisting ruins that shift collapsing sandcastles. Strange figures linger in the distance, stragglers that have been banished from the city but are chained to this realm.
Eventually, even this landscape fades away, until it is an endless grey beach facing an endless ocean of inky black. The water is tranquil, the waves are small. It is almost a still pool of dead water, with no inhabitants, no life, nothing. It cannot be crossed.
Notes: Feel free to invent any sort of location for the city. There are parks, stores, cafes, homes, garden, all of them against a dark backdrop. Interiors can be lighter, but should retain the colours of the above.
Chaos, Disciple of Athro
Chaos is a devoted disciple of Athro, and strives to be the embodiment of his namesake. Their personality is unstable, often oscillating between terrifying enthusiasm and extreme moodiness. Their temper is short but so is their memory: Chaos holds few grudges, and often can be charmed from one mood to another if something-- or someone!-- catches their fancy. Will you be so lucky?
Quests:
These prompts have been written with flexibility in mind, so please feel free to alter them to fit your Stygian best. You may use all of a prompt, or only one tiny piece.
1. The City
Write or draw your Stygian in the city itself, be it the hotel/casino or otherwise. Options include parks, stores, restaurants, streets, greenhouses, homes, etc. Keep in mind that it is empty and that locations function on their own mysteriously. Feel free to even emulate parts of your own hometown, even if they are more suburban or rural. The city melts and changes, after all!
Reward: Your Stygian's realm gains a small window to whatever you depict here, as if it were cut and paste from the darkness itself. It is not large enough to go through, but can serve as a window into it with a fragmented red frame. This lasts for one IC day, and the effect may be used in 1 quest with this Stygian.
2. The Oddities
Write or draw your Stygian in one of the many museums around the city. They can be anything: science, art, history, or just a collection of strange objects. Feel free to draw any dioramas, make up fun objects that may or may not have existed. Perhaps there's one devoted only to types of cheese, or perhaps it's more ominous than that.
Reward: Your Stygian finds a strange object from the museum in their own realm. It spreads corrupted red glitches around its perimeter. It lasts for one IC day, and the effect may be used in 1 quest with this Stygian.

3. The Outskirts
Write or draw your Stygian outside of the urban sprawl, in the ruins or shadowy forests. All old ruins can be used-- Egyptian tombs, Greek coliseums, etc-- and they all share the fact that they are collapsing, constantly shifting on their own. Your Stygian might also run into those that have been banished from the city-- little shadows without fully fledged forms all their own, with different colors of glowing eyes. If your Stygian is friendly, the little shadow critters want to befriend them.
Reward: If you depict one of the shadowy creatures, your Stygian can take them home to their realm. They are friendly but can't communicate beyond gestures and hugging. It stays for one IC day before returning home, and the effect may be used in 1 quest with this Stygian.
4. The Eternal Sea
Write or draw your Stygian at the world's edge, the endless sea of black with a grey beach alongside it. Strange hallucinations tend to happen here, wavering images of what could be or what once was. What haunts your Stygian-- a lost love, potential power? Perhaps they do not see any visions at all, and are only there to see the end of the world. Trying to cross the ocean will deposit back at the shore as if they'd never been in the water at all.
Pre-requisite: Complete one of the previous quests to unlock this quest.
Reward: Chaos' realm knows how far you've come, how much you've seen. Your Stygian gains the ability to gaze into a body of water and see a vision of their choosing that fulfills their heart's greatest desire. It stays for one IC day before melting away, and the effect may be used in 1 quest with this Stygian.
