Listening to the conductor was becoming more and more of a task that was feeling increasingly insurmountable. Grim didn’t care. She honestly wasn’t sure why she decided to accept the invitation but boy was she glad she did, this place looked like fun and she was itching to get into it. But first, this conductor.
She listened half-heartedly as he rambled on about rules, something that Grim never felt particularly inclined to follow at the best of times, and this guy had just pronounced her name as “grime” instead of “grim” and now she was just plain irritable.
Her brows furrowed as she considered the first rule, ignoring his rattling off of the second.
“Look, don’t touch”?
Where on earth was the fun in that?
She thought she was meant to explore this place, any explorer would know you have to do at least a little bit of digging to find any hidden secrets.
Her ears flicked a little bit as he finished with the third rule, something about not telling anyone outside of this place anything about it. Whatever. There was only one person she cared about talking to and she was here too, somewhere, so it didn’t matter talking to her about it. Actually, finding her sounded like a good idea. This would be way more fun with Bruise.
After the conductor mercifully stopped talking Grim wasted no time brushing past them to begin her adventure. She wasn’t actually entirely sure where to go to find her committee, not that she was all that interested in it. She’d been sorted into some merchant’s committee and Grim had little interest in doing anything in the form of work selling things, and she certainly didn’t want to buy anything, so her interest in the committee wasn’t particularly strong.
She set off in a random direction, figuring that eventually she would come across something that seemed fun, and if not she’d find someone who was taking this all far too seriously, in her opinion, and she could have a little fun pestering them.
This place seemed like the perfect level of mysterious and dangerous for a Stygian like Grim, and she grinned to herself as she skipped along.
