Westsea Luta

These medium-sized felids have adapted to a largely (but not entirely!) aquatic life. They often hunt in a small colony comprised of six to eight individuals and their kittens. While airbreathing, their gills allow them to extend the time they spend underwater and enable impressively deep dives with little to no risk of decompression sickness. Their bioluminescense is used to lure prey and signal to other members of the colony. Kittens are birthed on land and communally raised by members of a colony, sometimes resulting in a colony crowding onto a narrow sandbar. Adults will frequently sleep wrapped in kelp to prevent themselves from drifting away.
